I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant during its opening weekend after a renovation. I would rate this place 5 stars. Firstly, I must commend the amazing ambiance that has been created by someone with a great vision for design. The food was fantastic, I ordered the porterhouse cooked medium and it was cooked perfectly, clearly of the highest quality. I started with the oysters as an appetizer which were delicious, and the sides of potatoes and mushrooms were also very tasty. For dessert, I indulged in the chocolate cheesecake. Tonight I came here for a spontaneous dinner date. It was great. The highlight appetizer would be the recommended sausage and potatoes. The first drink pictured was great and smooth. As our entrees, the pasta we got was pasta bolognese (pictured) and spicy rigatoni. I highly recommend the pasta bolognese as it is one of the best pastas I’ve had in the U.S. FYI, it is cooked al dente but that’s what makes it great. BB is a fantastic overall experience. While the prices are high, the food is excellent and the steak is delicious. Dining outdoors is recommended, although you may have to wait a bit for a table. The atmosphere is cozy but comfortable, and the service at every step - from check-in to the bar to the table - is top-notch. Our server, Mario, was exceptional. The staff is attentive and always on hand to explain menu items. The Brussel sprouts and crispy potatoes are a must-try, as well as the wedge salad and thick-cut bacon. While our steak was slightly undercooked, we had no complaints as the overall experience from start to finish was great.
The decor and atmosphere at this restaurant are spot on! Patrick provided excellent service and was very cheerful, making our experience very enjoyable. The food, from the spicy rigatoni to the steak, was all incredible. I highly recommend trying the Brussels sprouts with Capt Crunch topping – yes, it's worth it! The drinks were perfect, and I appreciated that the music wasn't the usual boring elevator-style soundtrack. In my opinion, this restaurant definitely deserves a 10/10 rating! Just make sure to make a reservation as far in advance as possible – we had a tough time getting in on a Thursday afternoon.

I finally had the chance to dine at Butcher Block and it was definitely worth the wait! The drinks were fantastic and the food was incredible. The steak took a while to be served, but it was understandable considering how busy they were cooking the steaks over a wood grate fire. We also ordered some vegetables as a side dish and the spicy rigatoni was a must-try. Be sure to make a reservation for your next visit before leaving, as they do not have a phone number for reservations and do not take online bookings either.
Definitely a very special experience. When you enter you go into a meat locker where each cut was explained. Our waiter was helpful in making sure we were ordering the right amount of food and wouldn’t be leaving hungry wince we were overwhelmed with the different cuts and pricing. Definitely on the more expensive side, but a perfect place for a nice occasion. Brussel sprouts were outrageously good.
Peter was our server and he was terrific. He made excellent recommendations and the food was exquisite. The cocktails were excellent as well. The service, food and ambiance are top notch. We were very happy to be seated outside as it does seem to be very tight inside. My only negative feedback for the food would be that the bacon side dish is way too sweet.
From start to finish, everything about The Block was unbelievable…service, ambiance, and the food was some of the best I’ve ever had. Our family has been to steak houses all over NJ, NY, and California and The Block hands down trumps them all. Absolutely amazing birthday dinner and cannot wait to come back!

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The ambiance and service are top-notch. Our waiter, Alex, was phenomenal and we have already booked a table to return. It truly is an unforgettable dining experience.
Great food. Worth the price. Top notch. Great service. Love the rustic feel to the atmosphere. Porter house was a must. There are too many options for just one visit. Definitely met the hype.
