A group of 10 longtime friends recently dined at the Butler's Arms and had a fantastic evening. We started off with drinks and were impressed by the selection of wine and real ale. Our table was ready on time and there was no pressure to order quickly. The menu was extensive, with all main dishes at a standard price on certain weekdays. Everyone agreed that the food was delicious, generous portions, and well-prepared. The staff was friendly and efficient. Special thanks to Tom, Molly, and Dan for making our evening very enjoyable.
My wife, sister-in-law, and I went to this restaurant together. My sister-in-law had planned to share a starter and a dessert, but after trying the starter (scallops and chorizo), she decided to opt for another starter instead of a dessert because it was so delicious. We all enjoyed the slow-cooked beef served on a bed of mash with red wine gravy. The wine was also reasonably priced. The staff were friendly, making for a great overall dining experience. It was a fantastic night out.
Haven't been for a while as we have been trying different places. But the meal we had yesterday was fab. The Fish and chips were superb and the mixture of starters my Wife and daughter had were lovely as well. The desserts were smashing. Very good value and also the Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Tom in particular was very attentive to all the customers, an asset to the Business. We only live down the road so will be visiting more often for sure. Thanks
Not been here for some time so popped in and ordered food. My Indian chicken and cheesecake were lovely as was the wifes black pudding lunch. Wish I could say the same about the wifes cherries on brioche with mascarpone cream but the cherries were absolutely tasteless, which I found out after she left half of it. Typical man, finished it off, the wife told the waitress who said she would let the kitchen know?? Nice food but don't order the cherry dessert!!

We visited with our parents and from start to finish it was excellent. Great food choices something different. All our meals were tasty and cooked well. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had the scallop and chorizo followed by the crayfish salad. I dont normally go for dessert but had the cherries with mascapone cream. We will certainky be back in the near future.
Service with a smile here. Massive shout out to Tom, our waiter. A lovely guy who waited on our table and his good humour and professionalism really added to the evening. The food was really delicious and the menu was imaginative. The prices were very reasonable too. We went with friends and had a good night. Will definitely be returning.
The food quality has decreased since my last visit pre-Covid. I was still able to observe the kitchen activity through the door window. However, I was disappointed to not see a chef in traditional attire, but instead wearing a hoodie. I am concerned about the lack of hygiene. Overall, the service was okay.
First visit for a lunchtime catch-up with my friend today. Great choice of food, lunch menu plus A La Carte plus fresh seafood specials menu. Food was excellent as was service will definitely be back.

Family run restaurant with excellent friendly staff. Had a fish special of whole large plaice on the bone with tarragon sauce chips and salad which was beautifully cooked at a reasonable price.
Had the most amazing rib eye steak cooked to perfection. Service 100 per cent just a fabulous evening
