Always head for The Castle after getting stocked up at Macknades in Faversham. Unfortunately the only real ale available on this visit was that awfully bland Doombar rubbish from Cornwall instead of one of the excellent local ales. Never mind, Guinness is always an excellent substitute.... Strangely, the pint of Guinness at £5.90 was more expensive than a large wine at £5.80..... The food... basic without going over the top. It 's good and very well priced for what it is.... don 't knock it. Keep it up! Would be nice if you actually took the trouble to reply to some of your reviews seeing as you ask us to like you on Facebook and Trip Advisor......
Homely and welcoming little gem inside the village of Oare, surrounded by beautiful country scenery. Varied menu serving home cooked delightful and tasty dishes. Staff, manager and locals made us very welcome. Clean and pleasant surroundings and tables well spaced out, so perfect for having that privacy and space when spending valuable time catching up with friends and family. Quiz nights also on, making it a great all round village pub. Give it a try and you will not be disappointed… the roasts are delicious with generous portions.
We regularly use The Castle for our Sunday Lunch treat. Quite simply you are assured a warm welcome, fantastic service and a top quality Sunday roast. We took our friends here today and they were very impressed both with the excellent dishes and at a reasonable price. We would not hesitate to recommend.
A decent pub with good, standard pub grub. The beer works too. The Castle is on the Lower Road, not far from Bysing Woods and the Gunpowder Mills (also a short stroll to the water). The garden seems to have been redone well. Decor is part pub, part cafe.

We were made very welcome, staff very polite and friendly, they do basic pub grub, witch is cooked, and prepared to very good standard, and they do small plates as well as normal size meals.
Fantastic food!! Ask for veggie options , you will not be disappointed. Everything was delicious, great service and great music! What a gem! Will be back for sure!!

Quiz night. A happy atmosphere, fun quiz and great table service. Pub was light, airy and beautifully clean.
Super Sunday lunch today, just what we needed. Staff are lovely, and it's a great pub.
