I went to the Castle for lunch today. It is a charming old pub with character and was clean and tidy. However, we had to search for a menu and the person serving drinks was not rude, but not very welcoming either. They seemed more interested in chatting with other customers at the bar. My sandwich was very big, but the filling did not match the size of the bread. The crisps were not stale, but they tasted like they had absorbed some of the kitchen's cooking flavors, which was not appetizing. My friend's jacket potato was average, but it seemed to be oven-baked rather than microwaved. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the food and are unlikely to return.
