This hotel is a little gem! The food was excellent and the attention to detail is second to none. I have a food intollerence which I had informed them about when we booked and they had done me a separate tasting menu including tasting wines to match. They ensured breakfast was tweaked and changed and nothing a problem. We stayed for two nights as we were attending a wedding for the second night. They normally only do rooms when you dine but they were kind enough to make exception, which was greatly appreciated. The rooms are lovely and very comfortable. if the guides are to be believed, wales is not well served by high-quality restaurants. at the beginning of this year, wales claim could lay on only four Michelin start sites, the same number as gloucestershire. to unite this culinary kluft, the krone at whitebrook, my personal favorite in wales recently announced a shock-proofing: then there were three. with tyddyn llan and the walnut tree already on the blog, we felt compelled to visit the checkers. but there is another reason to visit the checkers, which makes this not only a visit to the curiosity, but one to renovate: the chief pedigree. during each cook that even made a two-day stage in the fat duck, it now looks...read more

What a wonderful find and virtually on our doorstep. Excellent food and superbly matched wine flight served in well furnished, cosy surroundings. The staff were all friendly and attentive and our room was perfect. The 'proper ' coffee and loose leaf tea and teapot were most welcome, as were the fresh homemade biscuits. Breakfast was varied and tasty and more substantial than some other more prestigious 'Restaurants with rooms ' that we have stayed in. We will definitely be back : :

Lovely birthday meal in February, we had the tasting menu. The cauliflower veloute with toasted hazlenuts and truffle cappuccino was to die for. All the courses and canapés were wonderful. Beautiful surroundings with a homely atmosphere. Its a shame we live so far away but will visit again the next time we are in the area. Charming hosts and great service Reserva una mesa ahora

what a nice stay, can not recommend this place enough, our room was beautiful and immaculate, beautiful house made cookies and coffee machine in the room and many beautiful haptics. our meal was amazing, everything looked and tasted so well and the breakfast was just as delicious all over a very special place and would do it all again, gave the chance

This was our first time dining here but it certainly won't be the last! The food was fantastic, the choice of wine was amazing (I've never seen such an extensive wine list), the staff were more than attentive and the atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Lovely evening for my wife's birthday. Food was superb, varied and well balanced. Calm and unpretentious interior. I recommend the wine flight which is a good way of trying different wines and also enhancing each dish. Looking forward to coming again soon!

.First course was right a creamy cauliflower velouté with floating tasty – flocking of smoked squid, a silky quails egg that luke in one and pieces of cauliflower that I felt only a touch to al dente.

Went to the Checkers for my sons 18th meal. We had the set menu and the wine flight. Superb meal and excellent service. Couldn’t fault anything.
