The decor is tasteful, and it's quite surprising to find such a well-curated place along the Gloucester Road, where competition is limited. The seating is low and comfortable, and the lighting is just right—not too harsh. The garden area is delightful and well-heated, making it enjoyable year-round. Many of the patrons seem to be students from the nearby University of the West of England (UWE), but the atmosphere isn't heavily skewed towards a student vibe. It’s clear that "The Chimp House" has received a lot of thoughtful attention, all without the inflated prices you might expect. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The bar consists of two sections. As you enter, you'll find the main area, which can accommodate around 100 to 120 people. It features a spacious bar stocked with a selection of beers, ciders, and top-shelf spirits. Further back, there’s another private hire room that opens up to a large marquee, providing additional space for over 80 guests. This venue is ideal for hosting work events, birthdays, or any type of private celebration. They also have a good sound system and DJ equipment, so all you need is a reason to throw a party. We had an absolutely fantastic night! The staff, the venue, and the owner were all incredible! The owner helped us set everything up, shared plenty of laughs, and kept the drinks coming all night long. The staff were wonderful, even joining in on the fun, and the venue was just perfect for our celebration. We will definitely be returning and highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a party venue. Thank you, Chimphouse!

The wine selection was quite limited, offering just one red and one white option. Unfortunately, the white tasted more like vinegar than wine.
