The Cock Horse Inn

I enjoyed a lovely three-course meal that was beautifully presented – truly a work of art! We also had two cocktails for £12, along with a glass of house wine and coffee. After including an optional tip, my total came to £40, which I found very reasonable given today’s economic climate. While the menu isn’t extensive, I prefer a focused selection done exceptionally well over an overwhelming variety with mediocre execution. I’m becoming a regular visitor!

The restaurant was empty when we arrived so it felt a bit weird. Within the hour, tables filled but as it is a huge area, it still felt empty. Food was good but portions rather small. I feel the whole place is lacking any atmosphere and feels too large and bare. Some people like minimalist but it’s not for me.

We took an impromptu trip to Lavenham and decided to stop for a late lunch. It's a lovely place! I had the squid, while my son enjoyed the burger; both dishes were outstanding and full of flavor. The service was excellent as well. A well-deserved 5 stars!

Our first visit , but a very pleasant one. A couple of the menu items were not available, but our group of five all found enough to choose from.
