Came as a guest for a wedding. Lovely gardens and surrounds for a small intimate garden wedding. The reception was for around 35 people, and this place is perfect for small to medium sized celebrations. After the exchanging of vows, staff came round with juice which they topped up. The wait staff seemed young and inexperienced who didn't seem comfortable mingling amongst the guests to offer a drink, and they kept missing me. I finally received a drink that was very sweet, but acceptable. Canapes were a bit average, with one having like a micro coleslaw on top....bit weird. Beautiful Attended a wedding and from start to finish everything was amazing Catered to dietary requirements well Canapés were tasty and well presented Pork belly for entree wow is all I can say Lamb rack for main meat was so tender it was like cutting through butter Water and wine topped up frequently and always asked if there was anything else we needed This is the second wedding I have attended there and honestly I was impressed both times Only downfall was the air con above us not working but the doors were soon opened and a lovely breeze cooled us down immensely. it is not often, I put pen on paper to give feedback to a place I have visited, but to this occasion I feel it really worthy for the courthouse restaurant and the team. Worst experience ever. I advise everyone not to go here. The manager was rude and when a complaint was made I was laughed at. They over exaggerated my reaction but as a paying customer paying over A grand for the function, I was within my rights to have a say and give feedback not mocked. I was very upset with the whole experience. Whilst I understand you have to defend your staff, there was no follow up call to ask why I was so upset to a point when I was emotional and frustrated. The food was incredible, the ambiance was incredible. One of the best experiences of my life. Entree of bugs and prawns served with an amazing salsa and avocado. I would have had a bowl full of the salad it was so incredible. Vanilla bean cheesecake was well sized and delicious, but definately big enough for 2 to share when having 3 courses. The only thing I didn't like was the chocolate balls filled with salted caramel, tasted a little like toffee, but meal was so great it didn't detract. This is my favourite restaurant now. :
The menu offered a variety of options, which would likely appeal to most diners. However, the chef was unwilling to make adjustments for guests with food allergies. For instance, my request for a red wine jus to be paired with a gravy-based sauce was denied, and instead, they offered a white sauce for the red meat, which I found unsatisfactory. I had also wanted to try the beef cheeks, but they were unavailable, forcing me to choose a second option instead. Overall, this experience was somewhat disappointing.
My girlfriend brithday today. She told me she wants to come here for birthday dinner. So I ve booked the table 2 weeks in advance. She was very excited and looking forward for the dinner. I received a call from the restaurant at 4pm today, they said we are the only table tonight, so decided not open the kitchen and not doing bussiness. We are so upset about they inform us at the last minute. Now we have to find a table for my girlfriend birthday dinner. Extremely disappointed.
This restaurant feels like a relic from Cleveland's past. They advertise themselves as serving five-star fine dining, but the meals I had were simple and something I could have easily made at home, and I'm not even a cook! The menu lacks creativity, and I would recommend going to a local pub instead if you're looking for straightforward food without the outrageous prices we experienced at places like Stokehouse or Aria.
