We popped in here as we were passing on our way to Sunderland and could not wait any longer for something to eat as we had not eaten since yesterday afternoon and we know that Weatherspoon's are fast at getting the food out but we made a big mistake. My other half wanted a empire state burger which they don't do any more instead its an american burger with only 3 beef patties instead of 4 also you don't get the onion rings with this burger whereas you did with the empire state burger and its actually dearer and you get less food The are ripping us off here more money and less food on top of this, the burger was missing it's bacon and red onions and what ever sauce was supposed to be on it so...
I am not a big fan of Wetherspoons pubs, but I must say that the Crown in Knaresborough exceeded expectations in terms of poor service. Despite the pub being fairly busy, there were not many people waiting at the bar to be served. With three bar staff on duty, it should have been easy, but it was not. It seemed like we were at the wrong end of the bar as far as the staff were concerned. Even when one of the barmen came to our area to pour a beer, he did not speak, smile, or make eye contact. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the wait. The way the staff worked seemed disorganized - they all gathered at one end of the bar, leaving two-thirds of the customers waiting in a service limbo...
I never know what I’m going to get when entering a Wetherspoons, except for the great prices. Visited Knaresborough for a break from London, with my daughter. Food was served quickly and was hot. Nicely cooked American burger. Served by a polite young man who later checked how the meals were. Service at the bar was attentive and friendly. Maybe my standards are lower, being used to dreadful London Spoons, but we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and returned the next day for drinks.
I just had the most incredible experience at this restaurant, as I always do. Beth is simply fantastic - she is always so cheerful and a pleasure to interact with. She is a definitely a valuable asset to the company. Beth is very knowledgeable and helpful, always going out of her way to make sure you have a great experience, even when you're not feeling your best. I will definitely be coming back, and I really hope that Beth will be working during my next visit.

Excellent meal at a bargain price. Went for the afternoon special, so was even better value. Food was piping hot, well presented, and service fast and friendly. Can't beat Wetherspoons for a filling, tasty meal. The Steak and Kidney pudding, mash and peas is lovely. Knaresborough is a beautiful town and well worth a visit.
Breakfast before setting off home after spending a lovely weekend in knaresborough. I had the traditional breakfast which included bacon, sausage, egg , beans, hash brown x2 and toast for £4.60 with unlimited hot drinks for £1.35. Very good value in this local Wetherspoons in the centre of town on the main road.
Standards dropping. Chocolate brownie advertised with chocolate sauce. They did not have any!!!!!! The lady I spoke to was not concerned. Not the usual standard.
The beer as usual was well looked after,must get my app working service was a little slow,food was what we expected hot and not bad really

I appreciate that it was a busy lunchtime, but had to ask for the table to be cleaned, then we're served wine in half pint glasses.
Food presented lovely everything cooked correctly and nice temperature. Must be 9ne of the best whetherspoons i have eaten at.
