This pub came highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint. Visited in January with my family and we all enjoyed the delicious home made burgers served with home made chips, onion rings and coleslaw. The best we’ve had in any pub and we’ve visited a lot over the years! We loved it so much we visited again in March for Mother’s Day. We were told that the burgers were not on the menu that day due to it being a special set menu. Feeling very disappointed, I asked the owner, Vick if we could request the burgers as we had been looking forward to sampling them again. What an amazing pub, we were there for Irish Night when the Irish band Parceol were playing, great atmosphere and the staff are amazing….and the food…wowee, we ordered 2 platters, one seafood and one ploughmans , very good indeed and high quality. Passed this pub hundreds of times but it was our first visit….and it certainly won’t be the last, our two little dogs Pixie and Minnie enjoyed it. We’ve eaten here many times and always really enjoyed the experience but yesterdays’s Sunday lunch was rather disappointing. A lovely dining room with friendly, efficient service but the quality of the meal was not up to the standard expected. The roast beef was tasty but with a lot of inedible fat and gristle and the roast potatoes were soggy rather than crisp. Not a great meal!
I stayed in a nearby cottage for 2 nights while attending a wedding at Woodstock, and decided to eat at this restaurant on the first night. It was a great choice! The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious and impressive. Make sure to stop by if you're passing through, you won't be disappointed!

We stopped for Sunday lunch while visiting family and were pleasantly surprised by the delicious food and friendly staff. The landlady was welcoming and the outdoor space was great for dining al fresco. A hidden gem worth trying if you're in the area, although it's a shame we live so far away.
Wow!! A great find… the food is fantastic! I had lamb shank and it was fabulous. Portion sizes are generous, the staff are really friendly and provided great service… we’ll be back!
friendly welcoming hosts that made my brief visit very enjoyable, the beer battered Haddock was excellent, best fish and chips I've had in ages, wished I lived closer.
The food at this restaurant is incredible, with a great variety of beers to choose from. The service was fast and wonderful, with staff who were extremely helpful.

Had a very generous sharing platter in the lovely beer garden at the back. Good quality food, friendly and welcoming hosts. Definitely recommend
