I hadn't visited this restaurant in years since I moved out of town, but I came back with a group of friends from Buffalo. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet our expectations. I used to love the French Onion soup and the Buffalo garlic parmesan wings, but during our visit today, the buffalo garlic parm sauce was overly salty. We also tried the spinach dip, which turned out to be mostly cold cream cheese with just a hint of spinach. One of my friends ordered the Impossible burger, and the bun was rock hard. The other two friends who got burgers also mentioned that they had little to no flavor. Overall, we were quite disappointed.
On 12/09/22, my friend and I went to the Distillery at 6pm. We were put on a wait list and went to the bar. No problem as it was a Friday night and we were in no hurry. It was moderately busy. The younger, woman bartender passed us five times without any acknowledgement. The sixth time I made direct eye contact with her and asked if we could order drinks. I purchased french onion soup, buffalo dip, and chicken quesadillas. The soup and dip were 10/10, but the quesadilla came with hardly any chicken on it at all. I was disappointed because it was a higher priced item that came very poorly done. I was polite and notified my waitress, Valerie A, and she was very understanding and sympathetic. Middle of the pack restaurant in the college town, serving a range of “core” dishes, i.e. burgers, wings, pizzas, and occasional steaks. Our food came out at the same time. Everything was warm. Not hot, nor cold, just warm. We waited for some time for them. We suspected the staff held them back under the heat lamp while they gathered the order together. Owner doesn’t care about his employees at all. He shut down the Syracuse location without giving employees any notice, leaving them jobless. These people had families to care for and he couldn’t be bothered to give them and heads up so that they could look for employment elsewhere. Disgusting person, will never support any of his businesses again.
It was the day of the last game in the world cup and we were seated in the back corner with football playing. The food was good and the server was nice but it was busy. Always a good place to go when you want good food.
My family and I went there today, we got the nacho extreme, the pretzel, french onion soup and the gluten free meal. Amazing is the only thing I could say!
