I/We have been going to The Dock for breakfast for a couple of years now, on and off. On the last two occasions of visiting The Dock 1. They had no gas so the menu was limited. 2. The friendly atmosphere seems to have disappeared and familiar faces have left. 3. The car park situation is awkward as the wasteland you could once park on has been closed off, so you have to use the Marina carpark which is small and has no disabled parking. The one thing that has not changed is the view, which is lovely when the sun is out. The food is ok, but unfortunately not as good as some of the other cafes in Plymouth.
The food at this restaurant is delicious, but the service was disappointing. Despite not having a reservation, we were lucky to secure a table for brunch at this busy restaurant. I don't mind paying for good quality food, but I am unwilling to leave a tip when the service was unenthusiastic, unfriendly, and dismissive. It's a pity when the food is tasty and the view of the harbor is beautiful. My family has dined here multiple times in the past and we have always had a good experience, but I am hesitant to return after this visit. I would consider carefully before dining here again.
before we sat down asking what we wanted to drink, within a couple minutes asked what we wanted to eat. We asked for a bit longer, within two minutes another lady asked if we are ready, quite clearly we wasn’t. The first man then came back over and said “ your five minutes are up what do you want” I found this so rude! For someone who struggles to order food I felt intimidated and went for a pastry basket. The pastry basket itself was amazing, everything warm with plenty of jam and butter and the views were beautiful! Shame about the pushy service to get you in and out!!
Awful experience! Originally arrived at 11.30am and spent the next 10 minutes faffing about trying to find where to park our car which was an exasperating experience with NO appropriate signage anywhere!!! Eventually got upstairs at 11.40 to be told very firmly that breakfast service had finished at 11.30 and we would only be able to order lunch from 12pm. Gutted as it was breakfast we wanted. Turned around and walked out the door again!

My wife and I arrived at the dock soak through, rain and a car going through a puddle. the waiter placed us near a heater to help dry us out. The staff let us settle in and came to take our drink and food order and ask if we were getting dry. the food we ordered arrived and tasted fantastic and the service was great. we look forward to returning perhaps on a better day. Thanks to all at the dock be seeing you soon
Not been here for 12 months or so and it seems to have dropped hugely in quality since. Food menu has changed and is much smaller than before. the quality of the 3 courses I had was average at very best. We went on a Friday evening and it was very quiet which says it all. Won’t be going back.
Overall, we had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The manager on duty seemed indifferent and we will not be returning. Perhaps this is why we had difficulty getting into other restaurants but had no trouble being accommodated here.
Been here with family several times. Great location. Food always great. Staff are efficient . Prices are good value. Live close by so will continue to visit. Keep up the good work.

Perfect. The food came out quicker than the drinks, but we were provided with table water right away so it wasn't a problem. The food and service were both outstanding. Thank you.
