I have dined at Don a few times before COVID-19, so this visit was my first in a while, and unfortunately, it was very disappointing. I tried calling to make a reservation for a table of eight on a Saturday, but no one answered the main number after multiple attempts. Eventually, someone answered the second number I tried. When we arrived, the person who I believe was the manager seemed reluctant to seat us. He did not ask if we had a reservation. The table was not ready and the restaurant had only a few available tables due to takeout orders. The manager hastily put tables together and carelessly placed extra settings on the table. The tight seating made us uncomfortable, so we had to move...

as with many other reviews, I was also charged about £9 to a takeaway order. I had three items I had never ordered, which obviously replaced the items I had ordered, which were missing from my first call that gave up the order. I found the personal involuntary in comparison to other Indian restaurants and very ininteresting. the menu and the prices suggest they should or try to show that they are a raised operation compared to other local ones, but that is really not the case. we are regular Indian cuisine diners and I can honestly say that eating here is a complete farewell. although not completely slander, eating is best among what one would expect from an under-average Indian farewell. we...

We decided to order a rather large takeaway from The Don as our usual place was closed. Ordering was a COMPLETE nightmare, I follow a vegan diet for my health have NEVER had an issue with any restaurant advising me with what I can...eat. I ordered all my usual bits double checked that I could eat my choices. I was told no I couldn't eat the Onion Bhaji or the samosas. I quickly chose something else which ended up being awful, I ate one spoonful and left the rest. The gentleman on the phone did TRY to advise what I could eat but I was told yes then no then yes so didn't have much faith that the food I was ordering was Vegan. I was then told my order of over £100 could NOT be paid for over the...

I am a local the food isnt bad but the service is appalling.. I would go more frequently, but I cant face the lack of enthusiasm. I know a lot of Indian restaurants dont allow the servers to keep tips, maybe this would give some...incentive. They need proper training left me with a filthy table after our starters (we are clumsy without even tidying up they served the mains. Just because of that we halved the tip. Calling a server over is hard work, theres one stationed at the bar mainly, another is wandering around, but not looking at each individual table. The food is not the cheapest so you expect a little care attention to detail. On the plus side the food is decent the restaurant with a...

I’ve been slightly generous with my score, it was probably a three and a half but I’ve gone up instead of down because my wife liked it a little more than I did. We went straight into mains as we prefer sides rather than starters,...we both had chicken and it was better than many curry houses, not over cooked and in the case of my wife’s dish, well spiced. Flavours were generally good and the onion bhajis had more onion than any other restaurant bhaji I’ve ever eaten (and there’s been hundreds). That would have made them the best ever except they inexplicably added sugar which made them a touch too sweet. Overall we liked the food and would return if in the area.

was invited here with friends and must say that it is the best Indian I ever had downstairs. the onion chutney with the poppadomen was amazing and in contrast to everyone I had before was also the duck kerala from this world! they still have to see it in another Indian restaurant, but it was cooked to perfection and the meat was so slim and tender would recommend 100% not wait until my next visit!

The service was very poor and the meal was below standard. We were extremely disappointed compared to our visit a year ago. We had brought friends along who we had previously recommended the restaurant to, and it was a mistake to do so.
