The food was quite good, and the server was friendly, but appeared quite distracted by what seemed to be a new iPad menu system. At one point, we witnessed the chef placing our food in the takeout window, with the server right beside it, completely engrossed in the iPad. We waited and waited, and despite the chef ringing the bell again, our food still did not make it to our table. It crossed my mind that perhaps the bartender, who was attending to one other customer, could have noticed the server was struggling and stepped in to deliver our food, offering better customer service. Unfortunately, by the time we finally received our meals, they were cold. Overall, I'm hoping this was just a lea...
Being from Tidewater, Virginia, I don't really know exactly what I should expect from a restaurant in Brooklyn, so we went with a recommendation of the hotel where we were staying, and took a very short walk to The Douglass. The menu was ample for myself and my wife (a pescatarian) for a casual dinner. Ditto for the specialty cocktail suggestions, wine list and draft beer offerings. As we were dining, a group of local fiddlers assembled in a back room for what looked like a regular Thursday night gathering, tables of diners came and went, and folks mingled at the bar. The service was attentive.
We successfully made a reservation here on Marathon Sunday, which worked out perfectly since it's located right along the Marathon route. After cheering for some friends running the race, we wanted to enjoy brunch, and we were pleasantly surprised by our experience. Despite the restaurant being packed, we received great service and the food was delicious. Considering its proximity to Barclays, I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a laid-back and quality place in the neighborhood.
the douglass was a very cozy pub filled with good music and good eating! I would recommend horseradish burger! the service was perfect, it's like we've been a million times. the bier selection has a large selection. it was the perfect place. we liked it so much after a show in the barclays center we went back for a starter and they guessed it more beer!

in neighborhood for Rock n Roll induction at Barclays. Our reservation was for 530pm. They could not serve food til six so we had a drink. Nice local bar and will come back.
It took a while to get served they were out of salmon burgers. We had grilled salmon, mashed potatoes salad which were tasty plus craft pilsner beer.
We visited the restaurant before a concert, but after waiting for an hour for our food, we had to leave because it still wasn't ready.
the food and service were excellent. the view of the place is okay. the music is absolutely terrible. these burger and chips!
