I had a slight mishap as I was leaving the restaurant to retrieve my glasses from the car - I slipped on the mat by the front door and hurt my shoulder, elbow, and wrist. Fortunately, a kind male waiter assured me he would take care of it. After 15 minutes, I inquired about the situation and he informed me that he had searched for an additional mat but couldn't find one. Another 10 minutes passed and to my surprise, the same waiter appeared with a large roll of blue paper, a mop bucket, and new mats! Despite the incident, our meal was exceptional and the staff were as friendly and helpful as ever, working diligently to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
My sister and I attended Steak Night on Friday, June 18th, 2021, and were thoroughly impressed with the delicious steaks and sides. I ordered the fillet cooked medium, while my sister enjoyed the sirloin cooked medium as well. The service was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly, a true testament to the owners and hosts, Pauline and Harry, who consistently go above and beyond to ensure all guests feel welcomed and well-fed in the charming historic setting. The atmosphere felt like a home away from home. Thank you to everyone involved!
I have had many a drink in this place and always noticed good looking meals being carried to diners so i decided to treat myself to a turkey and ham dinner today I must say i really enjoyed it Was well cooked. Good portions. And very tasty. As good as i have had in other good places doing the exact meal. Same lay out and same vegetable sides. And my pint was in good order and all was served to me by pleasant staff. The price for it all was very reasonable. And i left very contented.
Last minute booking to this really well run restaurant. It was so busy and our last minute call was welcomed and a table ready for us. The menu is extensive and lots to choose to suit all tastes. On Thursday evening there is a special priced menu which is amazing value. The staff are super friendly abs nothing too much trouble. The meal most delicious and portion sizes very good. We will return.

Had our wedding reception here and it was 10 out of 10. The staff could not have done more for us, everything was perfect. It was the perfect location for our intimate wedding reception. We went for Sunday lunch and waited ages for service both at the start and between the lunch. The staff organization looked a bit haphazard. Staff were pleasant. The staff were welcoming and the service was efficient. Despite the busy lunch hour, we were able to snag the last available table. The menu offered a variety of options to choose from. Unfortunately, the chicken burger was lacking, as it was dry and had tough parts in it.
