Wonderful cheese selection and knowledgeable staff. We had a good time shopping there and I?d probably revisit to try other cheeses and other items on their menu if I were back in the area. Although I appreciated their variety, I was a little disappointed they did not have many locally produced cheeses though. They were also quite stingy with sampling, looking rather disappointed by the time we asked for our second samples prior to purchasing. It?s not that we were trying to sample without buying ? just that we were curious about these cheese with interesting names we can barely pronounce. Their grilled cheese was amazing though. It was a nice lunch in a very nice small place. A few highlights: looks like Vancouver Island Marble countertop and the kind of wine fridge that keeps wine fresh (I can 't remember what it 's called). Both of us had a very delicious French Onion soup. It takes a while to get through it as it comes very hot. But the overall quality of the dish is high. No shortcuts with ingredients or assembly. We shared a 3 cheese grilled cheese sandwich which was very good. You could taste the herbs and it has a tasty bit of honey drizzled on top. And nice chewy bread. Best part was that our server recommended a red wine that matched up really well.
This restaurant has a very upscale vibe. A good friend from the city gifted me a wine box, but when I mentioned to The Farmers Daughter that I don’t drink alcohol, I was initially told they couldn’t accommodate me. However, after some persistence, my $120 gift box was exchanged for a $17 gift card, along with three pieces of cheese, a box of crackers, pear jam, and some delicious homemade pesto. While the quality of the products was outstanding, the customer service and overall value didn't quite match the generous gift from my friend. Still, I believe this establishment will thrive, as they have a wonderful staff.
The Farmer's Daughter was a great experience! My hubby and I enjoyed a flight of wine with cheese to start, then shared the duck charcuterie, followed by a delicious tiramisu dessert! My partners and I enjoyed a delightful evening sharing wine and cheese flights, along with some baked goods. Everything we tasted was delicious and perfectly paired. The sommelier was a pleasure to speak with, and the servers, music, and ambiance all contributed to a fantastic night out.
