The Fat Greek Taverna

Looked forward to a greek meal but very disappointed. They just opened after being closed for two days and we were told they were out of lamb souvlaki !! ordered chicken instead. The chicken was palatable not moist or dry but the side salad was not a Greek salad but a mushy composition of old tomatoes cabbage cucumber and lettuce. My partner ordered the salad as a starter but left most of it. We have over the years eaten in lots of Greek restaurants and a greek salad this was not when we pointed this out we were told it is what they always serve by the owner who was a Cypriot!! The chips were full of oil and soggy. The fat beans were not a tasty greek recipe but must be a new invention. To be fair the calamari was fine as was the pork belly ribs serving huge portions. This place serves quantity rather than quality. Very pleasant staff but shame the chefs can not do better. .

The Fat Greek Tavern is situated in the centre of Worthing. It is a large restaurant serving Greek meals. There are full menus and lunch time menus. The food when delivered is hot with good size portions. The staff are very friendly with a good sense of humour. They are also knowledgeable and efficient. The restaurant is very clean with plenty of room between the tables, which are both inside and outside.

I always enjoy coming here because the staff are so friendly and the food is pretty good! Nice that they have vegan options but would be great to have a couple more, I usually go for the vegan gyros and it’s pretty tasty. Yummy hummus. It’s a nice spot for Greek food in Worthing!

what a great place to eat. eating is excellent, the staff is friendly. large portions and a living atmosphere. bookings are recommended as it was packed. many thanks for the delicious food.
