We were pleasantly surprised that our request of a more intimate table brought us to a private elevated area with a little gate to get in where our table sat for just the two of us, surrounded by lanterns! We totally enjoyed the food and service. Menu is designed to be shared and is totally flexible on portions. Our server suggested the steak tartare, which we wouldn't have selected on our own and it was amazingly good. We shared the lobster bisque entrée and then the tartare appetizer and then shared the duck entrée. We had the hazelnut dacquoise which was very delicious. The Fifth Grill is located in an old warehouse, the unique entry up to the restaurant is by freight elevator with someone running it. You arrive in a candlelit room with white slip covered chairs, a roaring fire and staff that aim to please. The restaurant is very romantic but also lends itself to dining with friends and or family. I would highly recommend this restaurant but know they are only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. When leaving, the main floor is used as a club for late night partyers, not something we were interested in but may appeal to some.
Well my title should say it all. We were there for a birthday party in a group of 12 and we felt neglected. The server was rude and impatient with us and did a very poor job of explaining the menu to us. The bill for my boyfriend and I came to $130 and we just had 2 appetizers and 2 drinks. Not only was it ridiculously expensive, the food was also served in extremely small portions and DID not taste good at all.I will never go back.

Our party of four, recently dined at "The Fifth," to celebrate a birthday. We were not disappointed. The lobster bisque is to die for, along with the lobster risotto and the duck magret. Everything on the menu is available in small and large portions. Suggested wine pairings are also offered to go with each dish in three and six ounce pourings. The wines are excellent choices to pair with the food, at a reasonable price.
Taking the time to dine at the Fifth Terrance is something you won't regret. Try their coursed menu and share between couples. From the service, to the decor, & ambitious this is an easy five stars.
Great night out with colleagues and friends. Food was good, music was good and drinks were too but a bit expensive. Convenient parking.
This quirky restaurant is a hidden jewel in Toronto and when JP is in the kitchen the evening is always special.
