when we went to the bar on our arrival, there were 2 members of staff, one behind the bar one on our side of the bar, both were on their smart tablets, neither greeted us for about a minute when we were acknowledged i wouldn't describe it as a warm friendly greeting also we were told that they had no booking for us despite the fact that we had 2 confirmations of our booking from open table. our food when it arrived (battered cod) turned out to be unsatisfactory, it wasn't cooked properly, it had uncooked floury batter inside, after pointing this out, we were given what we thought was a less than friendly apology we were given a refund on one of the portions of fish. we have eaten here before...
visits 6th januar 2018 after the invitation to the tasting evening. what a beautiful evening my man and I had. great choice of food to taste, although we have often eaten here, we always go for the same food. beautiful selection of starters, main and desserts. When the evening was finished, they thought we had eaten a 3-course menu. sam and the other staff were very friendly and attentive. they love the new layout/decor.
Starter was overcooked and not as described on the menu. Staff seemed unable and unwilling to do anything about it, despite the plate being practically untouched when they cleared the table. Main course was fine but portion sizes seem smaller than on earlier visits this year. Would not return as this venue appears to be going downhill.
Overall a good evening but it started badly as I expected and I believe it was Open Tables fault, as our booking didn't appear at the Firecrest, but thankfully they had space for us.

The food was great value for money. The fixed price menu ensures that you can enjoy a three course meal and not spend through the roof. I would definitely recommend it.
Very understanding friendly staff.my friend was nearly an hour late and the staff came over several times to see if I wanted anything.
Excellent meal. Very helpful and friendly service. Warm and comfortable location and relaxed atmosphere.
