I want to be fair. The staff, the setting, even what I tasted of the food is good, but there was one thing that soured my visit. I ordered a seasonal special, Pigs In Blankets. This turned out to be 5 cocktail sausages on mash with some red cabbage and various crumbs on top and gravy in a pot. There was no bacon, although apparently there were bacon crumbs that I failed to taste. I just felt that the title of the dish was misleading at the very least. Again to be fair the description did set this out so it’s my mistake for not reading carefully and my mistake for trusting the cafe to be trustworthy. It’s not a mistake I’ll be making again.
The cafe was very busy but we were given a buzzer and told the wait would be about 20 minutes, so we went back down into the shop but I’m sure it wasn’t that long before it went off. Husband said his breakfast was beautiful and the rarebit was to die for, I had it with garlic mushrooms which were gorgeous. I’m sorry to say the portion was so good I didn’t quite manage to eat it all (I tried very hard though). The food was great, the staff helpful, friendly and efficient (they never seemed to stop) nothing was left undone.
The food was really nice and filling and Julie and the team was really kind and helpful definitely recommend We was greeted with a lovely smile on arrival to the cafe by Julie then she was a lovely person to speak to We were brought to the table and got the menu explained for us without any rush witch was very nice The food was very filling and very fresh from our trip to Windermere the cafe was definitely the top thing Can’t wait to visit again
The cafe is nice and provides good food but some prices are unreasonable. £4.00 for 2 slices of buttered toast but an extra £1.00 for jam or marmalade is a bit tight. Come on Lakeland, do you really need to Milk customers for the small amount of jam it would take to make the toast a good option.

Brilliant veggie gluten free food veggie from choice gluten free as medically necessary . The kitchen are always happy to accommodate food preferences without it being a big deal for them . As always, lovely staff as well as fabulous food
Lovely festive treat. Had the turkey toastie and it was delicious! The coleslaw was made with sprouts! Who’d have thought! The turkey was dipped in gravy! So tasty! A little extra pot of gravy on the side would be a welcome addition.
Had the pleasure of having lunch here on Thursday. Chose the Glazed Pigs in Blanket and it was a good choice! A real taste of Christmas and loved the festive gravy! Definitely recommend the festive lunch it's a real treat
The restaurant provided excellent service, had a pleasant atmosphere, and served delicious coffee, making it the perfect respite after a shopping excursion in the store.

Amazing lunch in the heart of Windemere. I had the pigs in blankets on mash which was absolutely lovely. Service was first class Emily was brilliant.
Snowed in and stuck in Windermere so tried the breakfast. Really delicious. Staff were helpful and friendly, nothing too much bother.
