Went for a nice family meal, my son is two and daughter one, and I have a seven year old, one of the kids accidentally smashed a glass! Happens most meals! I asked the waitress who seems to be in terrible mood every time I go to this restaurant, that we may need to hoover the area as there are young kids at the table! Her response was “are you telling me to hoover?” I was so taken back by this response as it is, in my mind the pubs obligation for health and safety reason to clean the glass up! This pub has a very lovely feel to it. Well decorated, clean, classy, but most importantly with great food. I haven’t tried many Sunday roasts in UK but out of the ones I tried this was definitely my favourite. We had the super roast (3 meats and all equally tasty) which comes with a HUGE Yorkshire pudding and veggies on the side. Service was really good as well with the food arriving promptly. We have been in the Fox and Goose many times now. Always pleasent staff and friendly. Too loud. I feel not enough room between tables. AT last you can book a table under six people. We come a distance to meet our family so we eat early just incase tables have gone. Food expensive for the poor quality. This is the second time we have experienced poor food ,will not return. For an outside function at this time of year very limited cover. I visited this restaurant for the first time a few weeks ago. My daughter has just started working here, so I may be a bit biased, but it is a lovely pub restaurant and bakehouse. The staff are very friendly and the prices are around £20-£30 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all receive a 5-star rating. I highly recommend trying the Cheesecake of the Day.
The seating was to put it kindly austere, incredibly uncomfortable. The food was basic, our table had calamari which was over cooked and for £8.50 we had 5 pieces each. I had a fantastic Sunday lunch at this restaurant with excellent service. As a first time visitor, I highly recommend it. I would rate the food, service, and atmosphere all a 4 out of 5.
The restaurant has a wide selection of gluten-free options on the menu. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. I would definitely come back again!
