We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The pub was decorated beautifully for Christmas and had a warm and welcoming atmosphere. There were only a few tables available, but we were able to snag one of the smaller tables near the bar that was perfect for our dog. The staff were busy but still friendly and attentive. We chose the turkey from the Christmas menu and it was delicious and served hot. The food was of high quality and reasonably priced. Overall, it was a great way to start our weekend getaway. A large group of 17 attended The Fox on a Monday night. We normally get together 2 or 3 times a year to meet up and chat over old times. The team at the pub are amazing, our food orders are booked in advanced and there are never any issues. The staff and service are always excellent,especially for such a big party. The food on this occasion was excellent, everyone commenting on how much they enjoyed it so a big thank you to the Chef and all of the team at The Fox Covert, looking forward to our next visit.
Booked a table, arrived to meet a girl behind a laptop. Didn’t get up, just pointed and said your table is over there and we weren’t the only ones. No service with a smile from restaurant staff but bar staff were great. Nice range of beers and wines, lovely ambience otherwise I would have rated this 1*. Food was average at best. Maybe our expectations are higher but in today’s world of money being tight and treats being rare I expected more from The Fox Covet.
We had an absolutely amazing meal for my father's birthday. It's rare to find a restaurant that still serves traditional homemade mince and dumplings on their menu. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food. The pub is charming and the staff are very friendly. The food was served quickly and the service was excellent. We will definitely be coming back.

I have reviewed fox covert many times always given great reviews but today 2 meals with beef was disappointing meat tough you pay good money for bedf and ‘sorry I will tell chef doesn’t cut it’ especially when we heard 2 other customers saying same thing. Cannot fault service or anything else but very disappointed
Haven't been for ages but as good as ever. Went on a lunchtime glad we were there early as most of the tables had been taken. Food was lovely, didn't have to wait too long either. The gentleman that served our drinks and food was very friendly and accommodating. Will defo be back.
The staff at this restaurant are unfriendly, as if they don't realize that their business relies on the customers. However, the saving grace of Fox Covert is the delicious and fresh food, which is always flavorful and reasonably priced with generous portion sizes.
Popular food pub between Yarm and Ingleby Barwick. Parking. Usual pub food offerings parmo, pasta) and interesting firecracker salmon. All adequate, but nothing special.

We're 1hour and not asked for our starter yet . Went to bar many to get drink for wife and four pints later left without been asked want for starters or main course
Excellent meal good atmosphere, friendly staff really good value for money definitely be returning soon
