This was my first visit. Lovely and clean, staff were efficient and friendly, but we were disappointed to see a large group of guys in there early 20’s crowded round the bar, some not wearing face masks and certainly not adhering to social distancing, when I went and pointed out to the manager he did speak to them, but it did affect our visit. Starters were delicious and a very generous portion but unfortunately there was a foreign body in my food that they tried to pass off as a piece of onion skin, but it looked more like a clear finger plaster. First time for the family to get together in over 18 months. We waited ages for the food to arrive and when it did one meal was cold and the steak was completely overcooked. The service was poor. Complete lack of attention. We struggled to order drinks and no one asked if the food was ok. They seemed to be concentrating on take away orders and it was noticeable the the girls taking these out did not wear masks. Overall a disappointing experience which was a shame as it should have been memorable for other reasons.
We were visiting Carnoustie and looking for a dog friendly place to eat and came across the Aboukir Hotel. Having eaten in dog friendly restaurants for a week we were expecting more English pub grub (as we had not looked at the menu). How wrong we were. We were warmly greeted and chose from the curry menu. Not a massive choice but everything was cooked from scratch and was up there with some of the best currys we have eaten. Great little place to eat and would fully recommend. Even dog friendly which is a bonus.
We visited the Aboukier Hotel yesterday for lunch. It was an extremely pleasant experience , the food was excellent and it was a very varied menu. As it was lunch time we chose to have the wraps with different fillings. The portions were very big and were accompanied by a large portion of chips. Several of our party also chose to have a desert which were also large portions and excellent. We could not believe the price as everything was very reasonable. We will definitely go back and worthy of 5 stars.

Four of us had a meal at the Curry Lounge, Aboukir hotel recently. It took an hour for the starters of poppadoms and dips to arrive and another hour for the main courses to be served. No one came to ask if things were ok or explain what was happening. The four of us each had a different curry and they were all good. However, the service was appalling with no apology for the ultra slow service. Won’t be going back anytime soon!
My wife and I along with another couple booked the Aboukir for lunch. Our drinks order was quickly taken then we ordered our starters and mains. They were all well presented, very tasty and lovely hot food. We all had clean plates and a lovely ‘ full ‘ feeling. For a good value lunch we would recommend the Abourkir.
This reataurant is great, it has an Indian menu with great traditional meals also,the fish and chips beautiful, the burgers are so good , i am 65 years old and in this restaurant i had the best chios i have ever tasted. Staff quick cheery and friendly.Locals very friendly also
Food is lovely and it is very fast service. They also deliver to the local area so you can phone and pay and then book a time slot for delivery. Food is very tasty and large portions will definitely be back!

First takeaway delivered free last night. 1 garlic chilli chicken and 1 chicken madras. Portions of huge but enough for us. It was so tasty, perfect best curry we have had in ages.
