The three girls working there appeared to totally ignore us, totally avoiding eye contact. We were discussing how poor the service was and must have been overheard by another customer, who recommended going elsewhere as they had to wait ages for their order. We decided to leave. This was a lovely Tearoom cafe. Homemade fresh food at low prices. Popular as we arrived late and they were selling out of some items on a summers day in August. You have the option of sitting outside or in. Very clean sanitizer available...and following covid-19 hygiene regulations well. Cleaning effectively and throughout our stay. The food was delightful. Drinks were very cheap and my tea was a double pot for only £2.20. We had jacket potatoes with Chilli or Tuna mayo with salad, coleslaw and extra cheese. For dessert l had a homemade Victoria sponge it was a large piece and delicious so moist and tasty, not dry like at other places). My husband had homemade biscuits of which he loved too...
We stumbled upon the Gallery Tearoom while exploring a new area after previously dining in Shrewsbury. We were originally just looking for a light lunch, possibly soup and a sandwich, but were pleasantly surprised to find homemade cake on the menu at a great price. The steak pie we ordered came with a side of mashed potatoes and carrots, topped with a delicious gravy. While the pie was a bit lacking in steak filling and the mashed potatoes could have been hotter, we still enjoyed the meal overall, especially the cake. The portion sizes were generous, and I particularly enjoyed the double portion of gravy served in a beautiful saucer. My wife also enjoyed her soup, and we both look forward to...
we went into this caffe, we were happy to get some food after a long trip. I waited and waited when we didn't know the procedure. our greeting was “take a place everywhere where we are very busy, there are a few tables before they only. have a few hands” I was honestly shocked. I could see how shocked customers, where by this greeting. I decided to have a cake and coffee because I didn't want to stay long after I was so unwilling. another server came by and apologized. scone was very hard and was not fresh. service was not great. very unorganized.

Live nearby and as students its a nice treat to come here for lunch now and again. They are really good with gluten free food with having gluten free bread which is really good. There milkshakes are so lovely as well for a treat. The...only reason they do not get 5 stars is depending on who is working when we go some staff are not as friendly as others which follows with the service we get
Beautiful, home-cooked food. Delicious. Super portion sizes accompanied by a varied, colourful tasty side salad. Home-made coleslaw was fantastic. Two brilliant meals one veggie and one vegan. Wide range of home-baked cakes available but we didn't have the room! Highlight of our day visit...to Shrewsbury. Would certainly go to The Gallery again. Thank you.
After enjoying lovely sandwiches with drinks we needed to use the toilet facilities! What a shock, after leaving a bright, clean tearoom we entered a dark dusty area which led onto a tiny single toilet! Dirty unswept floor and a filthy sink, Ugh, so disappointed.
On February 11, 2022, the restaurant was quite busy, but the service was quick and accommodating. The coffee and food were excellent and offered great value for the price. I will definitely visit again when I am next in Shrewsbury.

We had lovely home made food in a pleasant atmosphere. Good table service. We knew the food would be fresh as items were rapidly disappearing from the menu, such was the popularity
The English breakfast at this restaurant is excellent. It is boiled to order and served very hot, making it delicious. The coffee is also good and the service is excellent.
