Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. My wife's fish and chips had more batter than fish, and another guest experienced the same issue with their meal. My calamari was not as crispy as advertised, but still edible. The lamb shank I ordered was lukewarm, despite being well presented. The ice cream dessert was of good quality but lacked presentation.
The service was average, with a young waitress doing her best to manage the large dining area. However, the male waiter delivering food was slow, and there was a lack of interaction with the customers. It seemed that the restaurant may have been understaffed or poorly trained.

We visited this restaurant for an early dinner on a late Saturday afternoon. Despite the time, it was still very busy, a clear indication of its popularity. The food was delicious with very generous portions. The starters were a bit large and filling, especially the potato skins which could easily be a full meal when paired with another side. The beef ale pie had a lot of pastry, perhaps a smaller lid would have been better. The pub had a great atmosphere and the staff were friendly and attentive. However, parking can be challenging so it would be best to minimize the number of cars if you are in a large group.
Today I went to lunch with my boyfriend at this restaurant. I ordered two appetizers to share as our main course. Unfortunately, both the Potato skins and the chicken wings were served lukewarm. I had to send them back and wait an additional 10 to 15 minutes for my food to be returned. The sauce on the chicken was too spicy for my liking. My boyfriend had the Hunters Chicken, which he thought was just okay. Overall, I was not impressed and do not plan on returning to this restaurant. On a positive note, the wait staff were friendly and pleasant.
Nice outside area, good food reasonably priced, everything is clean, the service is efficient and the staff are friendly. there is also a wide variety of beers etc. Downside limited car parking on site, always have anxiety that my car is going to get whacked by someone's 4x4. There is an overflow car park nearby, but I have never managed to find it. The bus stop is close by though.

Be warned! They have (v) for vegetarian besides dishes which have been cooked in the same oil as fish; the breaded mushrooms are fried with the clamari, for example. We found this out when we mentioned that my partner has a severe allergy to fish. Without mentioning this, the results would have been dangerous if he'd eaten the non-vegtarian food item, labelled incorrectly.
The service was terrible waited half hour for a drink and had to find a member of staff to ask for service 3 times. Chicken wing starter avoid more sauce then chicken. Roast dinner was awful potato’s under cooked and Yorkshire over cooked to a burnt crisp. Lots of staff but was ignored. Very disappointing
We ordered the nut roast from the Sunday Roast menu from the board. The nut roast was dry, roast potatoes been cooked for ages like cafeteria foods. Awful not freshly cooked at all. Always order from the menu. Told the waitress the food was overcooked but she took no notice.
The food is always good here although I would like to see parsnips. The real ale is very poor quality and unworthy of the Londo Pride it claimed to be it was in dreadful condition and tasted awful, do not order real ale here they do not know how to keep it in top condition.

Me and my wife had Shepherds Pie. It was almost inedible. Far far too salty. We told the waiter who responded by presenting us with a full bill. No reduction to what was a fairly overpriced meal to start with. Won't be going back.
