The George On The Green

Visited today on a recommendation from a friend …. What a lovely looking pub. We were greeted by smiley and courteous staff and everything felt right about this pub and restaurant. I had the fish cake stater, best I’ve ever had and my wife had the prawns …. best she’s ever had apparently, nice. The main course was the surf and turf, the steak which you cannot see in the photo as it’s hidden under the scampi, was succulent and very well cooked. What really impressed me was the salad served with the S T and my fish cake as this was a pleasant change to the limp, unimaginative salads so often served in less attentive establishments. We will be back with family and friends and I suggest you pay...

My only gripe is the discretionary 10% service charge added to tables of ...... wait for it... 2 or more. How many people dine on their own? So everyone, apart from singles will be charged this 10% They would be better off increasing their prices by 10% and offering single eaters a 10% discount. Lovely pub though.

Lovely food and lovely staff!! A bit overpriced for what you get but it’s nice enough, staff were really attentive and when asked for anything brought it over pretty much immediately. Recommend the sticky toffee pudding!

a couple of times for lunch here, was never disappointed. great service, friendly staff and fantastic eating. highly recommended if I lived closer, it would be my local Reserva una mesa ahora

excellent filet steak, lamb and prawn starter was also delicious. great service, great drinks and great atmosphere.

Great selection of beers, really good food all in atmospheric surroundings. My favourite pub.
