Honestly they let themselves down this time. It was not busy, I’d say about 3-4 tables worth of customers and maybe 2 couples outside. We walked in and got told to sit anywhere. Then we sat for a good 15 minutes before getting served. Whilst waiting the two gents working there were scruffy and wearing dirty white trainers, which wasn’t a great professional look. The 2 female workers were much better dressed in casual yet smart clothing. Whilst waiting we were watching the 2 male workers slooowly make about 8 cups of coffee. We booked the upstairs space for an evening pre-wedding get together. Great views of the beach and the Priory. We all had the fish supper which was excellent, everything coming fresh from Fish Quay. Also an amazing fish platter to go with it. Brilliant home made chips with mushy peas and curry sauce, and loads of everything. The staff were absolutely great, very friendly and efficient. the staff were very nice and accommodating to me and my assistance hound am registered learning disabled. the food was lovely recommended by my family although I couldnt eat at the time due to much pain from my crohn's disease. drinks lovely though and nice and clean all over inside with lovely views and clean windows to see out of fab natural lighting.
Great experience here, we stopped for lunch on a day visit to Tynemouth. We all had fish and chips, and it was delicious. Fish cooked to perfection with really light batter, and the chips were so tasty. Staff were great, not overly fussy, which is good, and the service was efficient and friendly. Wished we had time to go back again before heading home

We held an after funeral reception upstairs in The Gibraltar Rock. Couldn’t fault the staff, the hot buffet, the venue and topped off with fab view. Made a tough day much easier and can’t recommend this venue more highly. It is also extremely reasonably priced. Keep up your fab work team Gibraltar Rock and thank you so much.
Visited here for lunch and it was lovely! We sat outside with beautiful sea views. 3 of us ordered the beef baps which came with a yorkshire pudding, stuffing, roasties and a jug of gravy. 1 of us ordered the chunky chips. All food was amazing! Especially the gravy! Staff were very friendly aswell. We will be back soon!
Lovely, welcoming staff. They were helpful and friendly, couldn’t do enough for us. They brought us a table and chairs outside for us. They also made m friend vegan sausages and gravy as we chose the carvery. We had an enjoyable time experience. Great value for money. Lovely meal and sea view. Highly recommended.
Hadn't booked but they managed to accommodate us. Carvery was exceptional and the fish and chips looked devine, beautiful white fish and gorgeous homemade chips.
