well located next to the minster. to a warm reception of fran, who showed us in our room and shared us with us. beautiful room. beautiful clean bed linen and towels. tee and coffee as well as 2 bottle water and a few kitkats. had a shader for a late lunch that was beautiful. large beer garden with a huge pavillon so in the position to sit even if there was a little rain. good choice of beer and some great gins. very comfortable bed, a candy shower and a really good, well cooked breakfast next morning. fran was a star through and was great craic. really good value for money. win after home from our competition! because we couldn't fit it before Christmas, the owners offered us a very friendly two-day stay for free! On Thursday we are not only in the most beautiful, largest room, but also a free bottle prosecco! the service was excellent. amazing breakfast with beautiful ingredients... as a food teacher is important to me! excellent, courteous and friendly staff! many thanks once again for our competition! we'll be safe. good place for a slumber break when we get married next year! x
only stayed here for one night, can not recommend enough. really good location near the mountain man and the shopping possibilities. our twin room was huge. I was there early, couldn't check in, but they left us the case behind the cash while we went out. breakfast included in the price was fab, and the staff was all friendly and helpful. platz has a beautiful beer garden that is well used in warmer weather! will come back, great fund.
This was a very intriguing little pub the atmosphere was very welcoming and the gentleman who owns the place was a Dublin boy and such a nice man to boot once we found a place which was quite difficult for us we settled in well and it was only a phew minutes walk to York Minster And a little further to the shambles extremely central clean and tidy with good food as well I definitely stay here again it's an experience worth having

gillygate stopped last night when I and my friends saw the mj-tribute in the opernhaus. the rooms were excellent, clean and well furnished. basic price for the room with breakfast included, loved the quirky ideas around the pub, the whole in the wall was creepy. aergarten was on place. allover great pub with rooms. would definitely recommend any age group. thanks!
What a lovely place to stay centrally located for all the delights that York has to offer. Rooms were very comfortable, food was great staff very friendly. Had a very nice beer garden to sit enjoy the sunshine watch the pizzas being baked in the stone oven!
