The Gladstone Arms

We visited the day after a bank holiday for lunch and found the restaurant almost empty. Sometimes, when a place is very quiet, the service can suffer, but that was not the case here. The owner gave us a warm welcome and was very accommodating due to my partner's limited mobility. The menu offered a good variety to satisfy our different tastes, and the food was enjoyable. There are a few parking spaces available on the road, which are conveniently located near the entrance. From the outside, The Gladstone appears to be a typical pub, but the dining area inside is simply and tastefully decorated, creating a fresh yet relaxed atmosphere. It's definitely a place worth visiting again.

I stumbled upon this pub on a sunny day while searching for a beer garden, and it didn’t disappoint. The garden is spacious, beautiful, and a true suntrap. We make the trip from Swindon to the Gladstone Arms whenever we know the weather will be nice, so we can soak up the lovely atmosphere and enjoy the great music. Although I haven’t tried the food yet, it looks fantastic. I would highly recommend this place and look forward to returning next summer. Price per person: £20–30.

We had a table for six on a Saturday night, and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. The food was well worth the wait—absolutely stunning in presentation and delicious in flavor. We will definitely be returning! For our vegetarian family member, there was a fantastic selection of options. Price per person: £30–£40. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 5 out of 5!

This is one of the few places in town where you can enjoy a beer and indulge in delicious food, especially during the ongoing COVID situation. I spent four hours in their covered garden area, equipped with various heaters that create a wonderful atmosphere. I had a bit of a disagreement with my mother during lunch, but the meal made up for it. I enjoyed the green Thai curry, which was excellent. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the prices were reasonable!

Good range of pub food and friendly service. Perhaps a little slow service as it seemed they were understaffed. But food was all delicious!
