After sat in the house with all this covid stuff, we finally decided to get out and try to have a day of it. After trolling the town with my kids looking for pizza, we first tried the star, their machines were on the Fritz and they didn't have much food on, strike one, then we tried the swan, didn't serve kids, I saw that from the sign but it was reinforced by the look of the lady as I walked it to try my luck. So we walked up to the golden lion. I walked in and was created by a smile. I asked if they served kids and she said yes. We have just returned from what I would say was one of the best Lunches we have had My wife chose the Roast Lamb and I had the Liver and Bacon. Both meals were delicious. A very good selection of vegetables. The deserts we had were homemade . That's very unusual these days. The proprietors were really lovely and helpful I would definitely recommend this Lovely old Pub dating back to 1535 It's very unusual to find a good old traditional British Pub with a really good English Menu

We have just moved back to the area and we were looking for a pub with traditional home cooked food. Great menu, we had the roast beef and it was delicious. Tender meat, crispy roast potatoes and well risen homemade Yorkshire pudding. Crumble for dessert, what more could you ask for! Landlady and landlord very welcoming. We will definitely return and recommend to friends and family.

Just had a tasty Sunday lunch out with the family . We chose the roast . Great selection of meats and the food was delicious. Very generous servings and all freshly cooked . Service was amazing . Prices really reasonable . Will definitely return . Reserva una mesa ahora

The Golden Lion is a friendly pub and their Sunday lunches are terrific value. I counted NINE different veg on my wholesome plate, served quickly and it was stunning. Lovely relaxing atmosphere, and very good service. Highly recommended.

Had a lovely roast dinner of lamb and my husband had lamb/beef/pork,absolutely beautiful dinner,felt tasted like a home cooked roast. Followed by Syrup sponge spotted dick and custard. Would highly recommend,lovely hosts

We sat in the garden. Food, beer service were all fabulous. We had the scampi fish chips. We hadn’t been to the pub for 25 years as we have moved away. We were made so welcome by the landlady. Definitely worth a visit.

Had Sunday roast and it was fantastic home cooked food and service with a smile. Choice of 5 meats and about 10 different veg. Definitely going back

Asked for a cab number was told to Google it as they didn't have one unbelievable I would never return very clicky
