We visited on Friday evening for a 75th birthday dinner- 2 families coming from over an hour away in each direction. We couldn 't have chosen a better place! The positive reviews below, which I used to help decide where we could meet half way, were not overstating their praise. From the moment my parents-in-law entered, they were made to feel like regulars- a warm welcome from the staff who engaged them in conversation and quickly got them drinks whilst they waited for us. I was disappointed with my experience at the restaurant tonight. Usually, I enjoy the meals here, but this time the scallops were disappointing and the tuna, which was supposed to be chargrilled, was cold and raw in the center. Although they brought another tuna steak that was cooked properly, it was served on a small plate with just a bit of lettuce and no chips. The Thai halibut was okay, but the service was lacking as we waited a long time for someone to take our dessert and coffee order. The staff seemed more interested in chatting and checking their phones behind the bar. Overall, I don't think we will be returning, which is unfortunate.

Came for a birthday celebration for the first time after hearing many good things. The owner is the most friendliest and nicest guy we’ve ever encountered in hospitality as well as the waitresses they were all very attentive and helpful. We had an issue with a meal which was just unfortunate but the way it was dealt with was second to none and you could tell it really did upset the manager which is a rarity and he really wanted to rectify it. Because of this we would definitely return because otherwise we had a great night and the food was delicious. Great portions and presentation. A very welcoming and nice little place!

Booked a table for 8pm Saturday 16th Sept and on arrival we were told the table was still occupied and would be free within 10 min. I ordered drinks from the bar for my partner and her disabled mother and waited. We were still at the bar at 8.30pm and told the barmaid we were not going to wait any longer and left. It was my Mother in laws 76th Birthday and no one kept us informed about our table. There were people sat at our table and they had just ordered more drinks from the bar and weren't for moving. We visited The Green Man for afternoon tea. From the moment we entered the pub we were welcomed by the owner who made us feel at home straight away. We were lead to our table that was located in a snug area that felt cosy and comfortable. The service was excellent. As the afternoon tea was brought to our table the staff explained each dish and made sure we were happy with our selection. The photos speak for themselves! Each mouthful was an absolute delight! I would highly recommend this place, it’s an absolute gem and we plan to revisit very soon to try the evening menu.

This was the 4th time of visiting The Green Man in Ropsley for a late Sunday lunch. We are allowed to sit in the bar as we had the little dog with us. The service is exceptional and always very friendly which always shocks me as I’m not used to the genuine interest they show to their guests. I live in Lincoln which is 24 miles away but I enjoy the drive as I know what’s awaiting me. Do try the Treacle sponge and custard it’s absolutely delicious.

Visited the Green Man for afternoon tea we had been given by family for our 70th birthday presents ! On arrival we were warmly welcomed by all members of staff and taken to our table through the lovely old building ! The tea was absolutely fantastic with a great selection of sandwiches cakes and other sweet treats ! All our dietary requirements had been fully actioned ! Can’t wait to come back and try the normal menus !

We visited on a busy Saturday evening. There was a lovely warm atmosphere upon our arrival. Staff were welcoming, polite and attentive. We wanted a delicious, hearty, British pub meal and we were not disappointed. Excellent choice of food and drinks. Highly recommend the beef and shallot short crust pastry pie! I have visited this restaurant twice now and have absolutely enjoyed it both times. The food is amazing and reasonably priced for the quality. I really like this place!

We had a very enjoyable meal this evening. The portions were extremely generous, the staff was friendly, and it was excellent value for money. Highly recommended.
