We have visited the Grumpy Mole several times a year since moving to the area 7 years ago and it has always been one of our favourites. This year though the service has deteriorated and put a real dampener on our visits. We’ve been about 5 times already this year. And several things have happened in that time: we asked for some cordial juice suitable (for our 3 year old), we got served lemonade and lime! Then when we said no we got given the worst look in the world by the waitress we’ve waited over 40mins for the bill and then when we went to the bar the waitress was arguing with the barman (about getting another tables drinks wrong), and I had to stand there for a further 5 mins waiting my...

we chose this venue for a golden wedding celebration on the basis of a previous visit to friends and it was not disappointed. my contact point was dean and he was super helpful before the meal so I could take a party cake, table gifts and a ballon. the table was not quite ready when we arrived, but we were approaching and looking for the order of a first drink. the menu is appetizing and all members of our party were spoiled for the choice. all have enjoyed their 3 courses very much. my only light criticism is that we were not offered regular beverage refills or a wine menu. we would have had more drinking in the evening, if we were asked, that would be because they had only short staff, but...

We returned with friends for sunday lunch yestertday and were blown away by how good it was and such a joy to have lunch there, personally would give it Stars across the board'. The sunday roasts and the like were gloriously huge, plenty of meats, yorkshire pudding , roast potatoes, cauliflower and vegetables. The food was scrumpcious and washed down with an wonderful malbec/ merlot which was abs. delicious. The manageress was wonderfully attentive and took planty of time to fully explain the menu availability for our celiac friend. Our new waitress was simply amazing and couldn't do enough for us and the other customers. On the service front we couldn't have wished for more, a Beacon of exc...

we had no reservations! we showed up and asked us to sit! the host at the front was the highest courtesy and profi! she even went out of her way to find out which table is booked for much later so that we can be accommodated! only if we hope she asked if we could eat with some time we knew. from the time we sat all the way to the end of the meal, our waitress was simply beautiful and very accommodating. it is also very well informed about the menu and the ingredients! the food was delicious and the service was also excellent! I could not say enough positive things about this establishment, because there is nothing to be grumst in here, since everyone is just nice and accommodating. I recomme...

while nothing earth is splintered with regard to the menu, the execution of the food and service here is really excellent. the high points were immaculately prepared calamari, French wobble soup and lamb. the steak was also worthy of its quite fixed price. I'm looking forward to coming back after a cake. our host had only spoken for 2 months English, but was not less effective and friendly and really well maintained for us. only hesitantly held a star back because he took an entire hour between the sitting and the first eating, although so pleasant that hour I didn't think terrible.

Well worth a visit at any time. Have known this establishment for many years. The food is of a very high standard with many selections. Take time to walk the village and see the various types of of building and gardens. Many years ago, in mymid and later youth I was part of a bugle band from the TS Ark Royal Sea Cadet Corps. On Bonfire night we'd march the roads around the village and their public houses. Great fun and times never forgotten, love Broken.

on Sunday afternoon. we had an excellent frying beef dinner. roasted to perfection and accompanied by perfectly cooked vegetables. yorkshire pudding with gravy was delicious. If we are ever in the opposite, we will certainly see again. all the workers were polite and helpful. the manager renter managed to find us a good table that was appreciated for this very busy time. if they have the chance to eat there, they take it.

We have been to this pub/restaurant a few times now and have not been disappointed. We both had the trio of roasts, which is beef, lamb, and chicken, and it was excellent. We have also had their normal menu, and my husband would highly recommend the steak and kidney pudding, which is his favourite. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble It is now our go-to pub.

This is one of the best pubs in Surrey. I know it is a chain, but it's a quality chain and this is one of the best.
