The Gurkha Kitchen

We have now gotten food to go twice from this small local restaurant. We have tried both kinds of dal, Aloo Bodi Tama, and Mix Mass Tarkari. They were all delicious. The food is very spicy so be sure to ask for milder food if you don't like your food too spicy. They do not serve brown rice so we always bring our food home and use our own rice. While it has been open for a long time, we finally just decided to try it and are so glad we did. We will be getting food there on a regular basis. The staff is also very friendly.

Dal Makhani was lowkey disgusting (1/5), under seasoned, under salted, lacked soul, and had a really processed esque taste. Legit tasted like canned refried beans, which is wild. I think the beans were actually canned (not the lentils, the beans). Which sucks cause I usually like this joint. The Chicken Biryani was delicious! Especially for a place that doesnt specialize in it. I give that a 4/5. Shame the dal was gross, its one of my fav dishes and dumb easy to make.

The Chicken Momo and the spicy sauce that comes with it are incredible! I really enjoy ordering their butter chicken, chicken biryani, and raita to mix everything together. The mango lassi is fantastic (could they give more?) and the aloo chaat is delicious.

The Lamb Biryani resembled more of a pulao rather than a true biryani. It had a strong meaty aroma and the taste was average. The price did not correspond to the quality of the dish. There are other restaurants that offer better options for Lamb Biryani.

I recently had some of the best Chole Bhature ever! The dish was truly amazing and the spices were just right. I highly recommend trying it out. Additionally, their chowmein noodles are fantastic and I really enjoy their chili sauce as well.
