Have always loved the Halsetown lovely atmosphere and very welcoming , which is just as true with the new owners . 11 of us came for lunch and those who had burgers (vegan and fish and chips were very complimentary of the food . Unfortunately the Sunday lunch (both vegan and meat , whilst well cooked and nicely presented , had no seasoning at all and very limited veg. Even with lots of salt and pepper added , it really didn’t taste like much at all . Great potential there, but more flavour desperately needed and more veg (carrots , greens, Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese even if as add on items or a bit extra (price was £15 per roast . Having visited this place numerous times over the last 15 years and seen various management teams and menu styles, the new owners have got it spot on. We booked a table for 12, a mix of adults and children. We were given a lovely warm welcome by the two staff members who work amazing together. The table was beautifully prepared when we arrived. The menu was simple and not overly complicated. After placing our order, with a few amendments (fussy kids! to what the menu stated, all the food came together, lovely and hot and exactly how we ordered it. Absolutely lovely. Great staff. Great drinks (thank you for the tiny aperol spritz so I could see if I liked it. Great GREAT food. And the dessert! Wow! I see some reviews have said the menu is limited. Yes, there’s not a lot on it, but not having a load of different dishes sat part prepped, but less options made to order, is really noticeable in the delicious quality. And, let’s face it, what business can afford to have lots of Ingredients sat around just in case. Thank you Jamie and team for making us so welcome. We were told it was a couple of the bar staff’s first day… we would never have known as they were so friendly and knowledgeable. We WILL be back.
Ten of us booked to eat here this evening and we weren 't disappointed! Food was home cooked the mushrooms on toast were to die for, the beef bourguignon was possibly the best we have ever had with superb flavours and beef which melted in the mouth! The burgers tasted home made and were delicious, as were the chips; desserts excellent too. Things were a bit chaotic initially with no menus and food advertised on the website not available at this time , but the youngsters were charming and the food served more than made up for the problems!! We will definitely return!

Sort of an old fashioned pub, but with excellent meals. We had the Steak on Friday night, and it was cooked as I love steak. Veg, and rest of the meal was really fab. Yes, I will definitely be going back there as quickly as I we can, the atmosphere in the place is friendly, service quick and it's simply a nice place for a night out.

Lovely meal yesterday evening Steak cooked to perfection and so tender. The rest of the family all enjoyed their meals. Service was great as always, the staff are always so cheerful, friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyable evening, so lucky to have the Halsetown Inn as our local.
We couldn't recommend this pub enough. We had three courses each and the food was really tasty and well cooked. The service was also excellent. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in St Ives!

What a lovely pub with the most friendly and accommodating mum and son team. Dinner was delicious and the rose delightful. I would highly recommend a visit.
This is laid back hospitality at its finest. Really warm and welcoming, great food at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back!
