The Hand, Llangollen

We were extremely disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. We had booked a room for our special anniversary back in February and specifically requested a quiet riverside room away from the main stairs. However, we were given room 17, which was located right opposite the stairwell and was a small, cramped space. It was disappointing to see that they had much nicer rooms available. The manager apologized and offered a small discount, but it was not enough to make up for the disappointment. The restaurant needs to pay more attention to customer requests in the future.

The restaurant is located in a great spot and the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the hotel itself is really in need of a renovation. The toilets were not working properly in both our room and the ones near the bar. The breakfast was delicious, but the dinner meals were disappointing. The liver I ordered was tough and the curry was bland. It's a shame because with some updates and a new chef, this place could be amazing.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel with a lovely room overlooking the water. The food was delicious and the staff were very accommodating. Despite being a 3-star hotel, I would rate it as a 5-star overall. It is definitely worth a visit as it is centrally located and has parking available. Thank you for a memorable stay!

Food was wonderful, staff could not do enough to help you. Also had a drink in the beer garden by the river, great views.

Nice hotel/bar friendly staff. lovely old building nicely furnished. called in on our walk for a drink.
