However, McMullen's recent refurbishment feels underwhelming compared to their other establishments—a missed opportunity, given that it's the only pub serving a large part of the town. The renovations lack creativity; a few more decorative elements and some soft furnishings could help dampen the noise, as the sound of a single loud group can make it difficult to have a conversation while dining or enjoying a drink. I dined there for the first time since the refurbishment, and my experience wasn't the best. After waiting 45 minutes for our food to arrive, it was unfortunately cold, even though the restaurant wasn't particularly busy. However, I must commend how they handled our complaint; their response was fantastic. Kudos to them for addressing the situation so well!

Very different from its previous incarnation as the Harrier! The staff is welcoming, and the food is delicious—especially the homemade burgers and pizzas. The atmosphere is relaxed overall, featuring shuffleboard, pool tables, and big screens, making it a great spot to hang out!

Cod and chips, cod really oily, mushy peas dry as a desert. Hallomi fries very dry. Loose dog begging while we eating. Staff acknowledged sorry don't cut it.
