We love Heron's Landing! The atmosphere is unique, with a historic charm reminiscent of early Jefferson. The outdoor patio, beautifully located along the banks of the Rock River, adds to the experience. Matt, the bartender, is one of the best mixologists around, and the food is not only well-prepared, but the diverse menu caters to a wide range of tastes. As for vegetarian options, I was pleasantly surprised by the salads, sandwiches, and entrees available for my vegetarian husband. His favorite is the Portabella sandwich, paired with an apple, cranberry, and walnut salad.
I've visited this restaurant for lunch numerous times and have also ordered takeout. Everything I’ve tried has been fantastic. My favorites include the Dam Burger and the Gobbler. The Potato Boats make for a great appetizer as well. They have the best homemade chips I've encountered anywhere. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent, making it a worthwhile stop whether you're passing through Jefferson or if you live nearby. It really embodies the essence of Wisconsin!
Decent food, great staff that was very helpful, and an awesome location. Very picturesque. I would highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Again, the food is fine, get appetizers, because those are probably one of the best things they offer Vegetarian options: They have a part of the menu set aside for fully vegi options. Kid-friendliness: They have a kid menu with lots of options like Mac and cheese
2nd time here. Great location on the river, even in winter. Was quiet when we visited but the decor is homely and cosy and the service friendly and efficient. Decent burger but outstanding ****** Mary. The Glarus beer on tap is stand out. Shame it’s only available in Wisconsin…. Parking: Decent amount of spots.

This place has very good food at a reasonable price , we loved the fish we had on Friday night and the onion rings are amazing. They are always very friendly and attentive to the tables, and sitting outside by river is a plus. Jefferson is a small town but every time we go we enjoy. ??
This is the best clam chowder I've ever had, and I absolutely love clam chowder. The pan-fried perch and bluegills are fantastic, and the potato pancakes are very similar to traditional Jewish ones. Be sure to order ice cream for dessert; it's a delightful treat!
Stopped here for lunch, taking a day trip to Jefferson. Restaurant on the Rock River. Outdoor patio and seating. Very clean. Friendly staff, the food was great ? Nicely landscaped. Great view of the river and park on the other side.
We love this place! Always a choice for a date night close to home. Food has always been great along with the workers! Would recommend this place to anyone!
