The Hive Stretford

Bit underwhelmed considering the hype. Food was decent though if you're planning to share and pick a selection of dishes you need to really like potato! I had the steak frites steak was wonderful. Beautifully cooked and tender as you like. Accompanying peppercorn sauce was lovely. What brought it down was the fries which were oversalted to the point of being overwhelming. A good range of desserts and we enjoyed a choux bun and frangipane tart. Very tasty.

Me and the family dined at the Hive today for a Sunday roast and I can honestly say we had a 10/10 experience. We were served by Sally and Gemma who were fantastic and made the whole evening very pleasant, so we will definitely be back. A real gem serving food at as high a quality level as you can find in Manchester. Great menu with varied options for all people. The food is top notch, flavours are amazing and well combined. Worst pool table I've ever played on. Not level at all. I saw the barstaff drag the pool table a few feet across the room, this explains why the pool table is not level. Nice place though. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
