Four of us went to the Homestead Tavern for lunch for the first time on Wednesday. They offer a good range of $15 lunch specials. Three of us opted for the steak sandwich which did not disappoint. It was delicious. The steak lovely and tender and the salad was really fresh. Other person in our party had the rump which was cooked to perfection. The accompanying pepper sauce was tasty and had lots of flavour. I believe that all lunch items come with salad & chips and vegetables are not available but I cannot confirm this for sure as no vegetables were mentioned on the menu. Lots of parking available. Not far off Sandgate Rd and easy to find. If a pensioner, don't forget to show your card for 1...
NEVER AGAIN!!!! On a Tuesday night with only 8 people in the restaurant our meals took 1 hour to come out. Despite raising this with staff they were unhelpful and offered no compensation. when we finally got our meals my fish was full of bones and a nice even oval shape (so clearly frozen). We were also then late for our show at the entertainment center. Extremely disappointing
Great place to visit for a meal before a concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.Staff are very friendly and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the battered flathead & chips - they were cooked to perfection. Service is quick and they also offered pension discounts to the seniors in our group. Will certainly go back there for a meal before the next concert.
The Homestead has a long history with us, we used to come here to see bands in the 80"s so on a whim we popped in for lunch. The Tavern offers great value $15 lunches, cheap & cheerful.The steak sandwich was good with tender steak and salad, the Chicken Para wasn't exceptional but neither was it bad. For a quick well priced meal the Homestead meets the brief.

I've heard so many people talk about how amazing Bubba's poutine is, so I decided to try one for myself and I'm sad to say that it is way too overhyped.
We had the place to ourselves for an early dinner, the barramundi fish and chips. Very nice! Both food and drinks were reasonably priced.
Both had chicken schnitzels which was large serving ,well presented,with gravy .Freindly bar staff serving COLD beer
Sunday night steaks & fish meals arrived promptly and cooked well. Prices ok. As good as any of its competition

Not the better bubbas go down to king st to get the best poutine in Kingston.
