This place is very, very average. We tried here for the first time. Firstly, prices are about £3 more than what is stated on their website, and in my opinion very overpriced for the small portions you get. Drinks also very pricey Veggie mixed grill was overcooked and dry. They clearly use just cheap chopped frozen veg in their vegetable curry, spring rolls etc. Food was extremely spicy, some of it unbearable. Only thing I properly enjoyed was the nan bread which was very nice! Maybe it is because we are from Birmingham and are used to very good Indians and grills (such as the Copper Fox, Harborne) , but this is not a patch on anything else we've had and also much more expensive for worse foo...
My experience was really questionable… a random girl who goes by the name RT ROBIN came over to our table and said she will sneakingly put through our drinks for 30p and to only attend the bar when her manager or co workers werent around. She then kept handing my under age sister free drinks. She then came over and took one of my friends drinks(which we paid full price for) and shotted it. Her and her friends come drinking here who are CLEARLY under 18… Therefore leading onto todays events i ask to order a drink and because she has a problem with my friend she refuses to serve me despite the fact i showed her REAL ID she still wouldn’t serve me. such poor service from this place. This place was recommended by family. Very modern inside, staff were lovely. The menu was basic Indian food .. no poppadoms which was disappointing. You order at the bar, the meals came out and were delicious, the plates were not cleared at the end, I did notice people stacked their plates in the hope they would be cleared. We left, paid at the bar on the way out and still our plates were on the table.
It was a disappointment as we had high expectations. We were reuniting with friends we hadn't seen in a long time. We would have preferred if it wasn't full table service (not sure why) but the bar service was slow, with staff frequently disappearing. The food was mediocre at best. It felt like the owner was more focused on entertaining his friends in the bar. Overall, it was just disappointing.

The staff at the restaurant were extremely friendly and welcoming. We were served promptly at the bar and the food was absolutely delicious! Overall, we were very pleased with our dining experience and will definitely be returning in the future. We will also be recommending this restaurant to others.
The food was amazing. I haven't eaten such good food out in a long time. The service was excellent too. All in all this is a very friendly venue whether you are out for a meal or just a quick drink.
The Indian mixed grill at The Hop and Vine is absolutely incredible! I highly recommend it. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is lovely. You need to try it!

Visited with colleagues, lovely relaxed atmosphere with friendly staff. Food was delicious, I had prawn biryani. Reasonably priced.
Brilliant bar/grill. Had a lovely food. Competitive prices for both food and drink. Can't rate this place enough!!!
