My family and myself had a superb Sunday roast today, including cauliflower cheese as a standard not an extra, which I was pleasantly surprised by. All of the food was beautifully cooked, very tasty and piping hot. There was also a good choice of desserts, but I was too full up for any of them! Although the pub no longer have their dog, they still welcome other dogs. The atmosphere in the pub was really friendly and welcoming. After the lunchtime sitting had finished, there was a singer who was fabulous. I would highly recommend the pub and their Sunday dinners!
Sunday roast dinner. What a fantastic meal. A generous portion of roast Lamb with mint sauce, roast potatoes, roast carrots, cabbage, cauliflower cheese, cabbage, peas, steamed carrots a big jug of gravy. A lot of places get the vegetables wrong, not here. I don't know whos doing the cooking but they have a proper old school attention to detail. I was stuffed so could only manage ice cream for dessert, 4 scoops with sauce, I couldn't eat it all. Serving staff are friendly your not rushed. There's no point cooking this at home, just come here.
The Tack Room at the Horse and Groom was just what we needed for our family and friends get together. We were able to decorate the room and have our own music playing, with drinks provided at the bar in the room. The home-cooked buffet was a fantastic spread. Everyone enjoyed the delicious chips, and the mini Yorkshire puddings with beef and horseradish went down particularly well. The children had a great time in the little play area and with the push along cars. Scott Nicki and their team were really helpful and made us feel very welcome.
Extremely surprised to read some negative reviews of the horse and groom. I go most weeks and have found ALL staff extremely pleasant and friendly. Always greeted with a smile and the pub grub is superb (especially the ham egg and bubble) you also have the benefit of the seafood hut adjacent which again is fantastic. Boo (the dog) is the most soppiest dog you'll ever encounter and just adds to the pubs family friendly environment . Horse groom keep up the good work ! Regards Neil

Delicious Sunday roast lunch with friends. Huge portions of either beef, pork or lamb with piping hot roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings and plenty of vegetables plus a side portion of cauliflower cheese. Followed by a choice of desserts. A real treat for us all to sit and chat without being rushed. Great service throughout and we thoroughly enjoyed being in this friendly, cosy pub. Highly recommend!
We were all so impressed stumbling across the pub after our pumpkin picking! Great attention to detail for families lovely toys a outside to keep them busy! A really great family feel, an extremely friendly team hosting beautifully- so attentive and so caring! The food was incredible traditional British pub grub at its best! Incredible value for money, and my god that bubble and squeak was divine!
Last year was taken to H&G and had ‘The Fish Shack’ delicious. Last week visited pub for a friend’s lunch time meet. The quality of the food was so good. , Although with apologies for shortage of staff the service was really good, staff so friendly and helpful. Will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend . Thank you Scott and staff.
Popped by for a drink and to sample the not so new Seafood venue they have as a pop up in their car park. Husband went in and bought the bitter shandys which were really refreshing. They provide water bowls for the pups which is great, and the Seafood place, A Sheridans is lovely. Will return!

Great Sunday lunch.Cannot be faulted.Plenty of meat and vegetables.You will find it difficult to eat it all.I would highly recommend it.Make Sue you book to avoid disappointment.
