We decided at the last minute to go out for lunch on Easter Sunday but found that all the other restaurants were fully booked. The Jolly Coopers had availability, but in hindsight, that should have been a warning sign. We ordered two turkey dinners, which arrived promptly but on cold plates and were tepid from the start. My gravy had a lump of undissolved stock cube and the stuffing was rock-hard. Despite large portions, the food was too cold to eat. During our visit, two staff members, including the chef, were seen sitting in the garden chatting with other diners.
We came across the Jolly Coopers by complete accident and we were so glad we did. We received a lovely warm welcome and so did our dog. We had a few drinks and a lunch from the huge menu. Our food choices were great and we both enjoyed our meals. If you're lucky enough to meet the little boy that lives there then your dog will be offered a most welcomed dog treat. We didn't catch his name but his Mum works behind the bar and he definitely gets his politeness and friendly manner from her. A warm welcome, great food and lovely atmosphere.
Eight of us – 4 adults, 4 teens 3 dogs) had the best lunch ever here. Amazing food, with great selection – from massive burgers to Thai green curry – and we were all super-happy with our food. Lots of good specials on offer too, in addition to the normal menu, and all very reasonably priced. The chef also found ways to help us choose fab things for one gluten-intolerant vegetarian person. Most important, the staff members were totally friendly, helpful and laid-back. Can't wait to go back here.
Friendly and inviting with delicious, freshly prepared food there is no greasy, fast food here. This is the second time we have visited recently and each time we were surprised at how many people were there as the pub is tucked away in a small, quiet village. The locals must realise how lucky they are to have such a gem. We will be visiting again soon and would definitely recommend you go there, you will not be disappointed.

We attended the Australia versus England game on Saturday morning and were pleasantly surprised to see only a few supporters present. The rooms were arranged for optimal viewing and the owners' hospitality was exceptional. We had a delicious breakfast, watched the thrilling game on a large screen, and enjoyed the comfortable temperature of the room. We are eagerly anticipating the next game.
I made a lunch reservation at this restaurant because it was located near the Christmas lights at Wrest Park. The roast dinners were delicious, with generous portions of meat and a really tasty gravy. The staff were all friendly and provided excellent service.
A lovely beef Sunday lunch portions were just right didn’t feel over full or still hungry when we left food was hot and very well priced would definitely recommend.
Perfect weekday lunch. The fish pie with seasonal vegetables was excellent and chicken curry with rice was very good. We'll be back.
