The Jug And Glass Inn

Popped in here for a coffee this afternoon. Ordered 2 coffees then asked the barman if he had any cake. He said 'no, no cake '. I was expecting him to offer an alternative as this is usual in my experience of pubs, restaurants and cafes. Alas, that was the end of the conversation and i found it quite abrupt. I looked around at the pub for a menu and perused the notice board. On turning around i saw a menu on the bar. I asked the barman if i could have one. Picking up the menu, i turned it over and was surprised to see that there was a dessert list. Low and behold, there on the list was Chocolate Fudge Cake. omg. was only earlier on this place and I thought I would rely on previous reviews before mine. I don't think Jamie ate the same place we did. from beginning to end we were made to feel welcome. the drinks were at a low price and high quality. and eating was great. I think the young lady who cooked was called vicky. I had the slowly cooked bark and my wife had the jäger huh. really good eating. and as a trained cook I can categorically say that it was not microwave-shaped. whatever. rant over. I can only assume that the previous review must have been somewhere else. we had a nice eating and a great service and will return safely. thanks jug and glass.

Because of covid and social distancing measures we decided to book here for an evening meal. Glad we did as its a very popular place and has on-site camping facilities. We were glad to see some covid measures were in place as far as social distancing went. I had slow cooked beef in pepercorn sauce and my wife had ham, egg and chips. Good, tasty food, well presented. We had the homemade chocolate/orange cheese cake for afters which was very good indeed. Nice place, warm welcome.

We have visited the Jug and Glass often and are very relieved that they have weathered the pandemic and come back with there familiar warm welcome and great homely food. Next time I will ensure my appetite is good enough to have one of there deserts, usually a crumble with lsbings of custard. Reserva una mesa ahora

Nice rural location. Clean rooms. Dogs friendly. Open fire and cosy bar area. We had a nice home made meal and wonderful breakfast. Big thank you for the chef, who made our stay even more enjoyable. Only a few minutes drive from Buxton.

only from a two-day stay in jug and glass inn back. clean, comfortable and warm rooms. nothing was too much annoyed for the host vicky and daryl. excellent home cooked food and a cozy bar. would highly recommend.

Very nice Inn , lovely cosy. Didnt have any food as just needed a brew. But must be really nice food as all the tables had been reserved for different parties. Phone was busy while we were there for bookings.

Called Easter Sunday for lunch hoping we could have a meal and we were able to order our food and enjoy eating it outside in the warm sunshine. Starter and main course were excellent and very enjoyable. Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent lunch in garden . Good Covid rules in place . Excellent home made food . Recommend beef with pepper , chips the best will be returning very soon
