My first impressions of this place, besides being in Bessemer (1st red flag) and I should have assumed better it was dead and we were one of only maybe four customers in the establishment. This should have been our 2nd red flag.I have a child who does not walk and uses a wheelchair. We requested a booth and were initially offered the booths that were up on platforms. I had to point out to our waitress that this was not accessible to my child. We were moved to a ground level booth but it was still challenging to get him all the way up to the table. If you aren't going to get a seafood boil from here, you're probably wasting your time ordering off the menu. We went for a family dinner date this night (12/19) before going to see Christmas lights and ordered several appetizers to share as a meal. The waitress warned me that the crab claws were small, but I was not expecting what I received. It was basically an undercooked donut with an entire tiny, tiny claw shell inside. Think a fat crawfish claw, and that's what was served. When I dug the claw out of the dough and cracked the claw open, there was hardly any meat and somehow even though the dough was almost raw, The Crab Claw itself was overcooked. Six fried crab claws for $5.95 should have been my first indicator that something was wrong here.We got fried pickles and fried mozzarella sticks and those were about what you would expect for Frozen food. The batter on the pickles was thick instead of light and crispy.I ordered the regular gumbo instead of the seafood gumbo. It tasted like raw Bell peppers. With the dim lighting of the restaurant, it's really hard to see your food well. But the gumbo had almost completely raw Bell peppers, raw celery, and even raw okra that had only been slightly cooked. Whereas I make this several times a year, and anyone knows that gumbo should be simmered for a while. I was surprised at the large portion. This was reasonably priced, but the sausage looked like a very cheap type, and I could not determine what the other meat was. I thought it was chicken, but it looked like probably canned chicken or something comparable to the meat out of a can of Campbell's condensed chicken noodle soup.We ordered hush puppies and these were about average.I ordered a crab cake for my disabled child who has a hard time anything that isn't too soft, as once I looked at the menu this was about all he could eat. I also ordered him a boiled potato which was served in a bowl with about a cup of melted butter. He also had gumbo poured over Hush Puppies which he enjoyed. My boyfriend ordered a white fish po boy with Cajun fries. We tried to give some of the fish to my child but it was fried so hard that the fish had become chewy and transparent.I also ordered coconut shrimp. These were cooked well and traditionally butterflied with shaved coconut on them and then had a sweet coconut sauce drizzled over the top of them. These, the crab cake, and the hush puppies were probably my favorite things. Obviously between the three of us, we had a lot of leftovers to take home. The coconut shrimp and the crab cake were so good that they were even enjoyable cold as a late night snack! The waitress was great and even offered to remedy or substitute the crab claws and speak to her manager. We initially asked for a dessert as a substitution, but they do not serve desserts.Food came out timely, which was to be expected considering the Emptiness of the establishment. I think unless you're coming for a seafood boil or adding appetizers with your Seafood boil, the food isn't going to be too great. We previously ordered a seafood boil for takeaway, but were not given crab leg crackers, but the shrimp and crab legs we had that time were also pretty good.If you don't mind eating your food out of plastic bags, I suggest the takeaway Seafood boil vs. Dining in.Cardi B also played in the background, explicit and unedited, calling people b s and h s, over someone's phone Bluetooth, presumably. Great management decision right there.

Portions were enormous! I got a side of rice and broccoli, but it was enough to feed a party of 4. Fish was breaded and fried just right. Service was on top of everything. I never saw an empty drink glass.Parking: They had room for big trucks. I was driving a 26 ft box truck. Others had full semis. Cars were parked around the entrance with ample room.Wheelchair accessibility: Did not appear to be any issues.
