The Pilgrim - Reserva de mesa

I tried to order some food over the phone on 3/10/23 at approximately 12.20 am for lunch. Unfortunately the person who answered the phone was incredibly rude to me when I asked some questions about their menu as I am looking for some typically Keralite food and not just dishes from a bog standard Indian takeway. She told me she had no knowledge of Keralite food and stated I do not need to know about Keralite food as it is written in the menu and we are in England anyway . If you insist on employing staff who have no knowledge of your cuisine being served, at least teach them to be polite and not racist when informing customers of their lack of knowledge. I suggest you sack this staff member.

Food is lovely but the service from one individual is off putting, was rather rushed by a lady who is constantly on her mobile phone and when we went early at 5.00 pm, I asked for a window table had pre booked too) and was advised sit anywhere but they are booked up and need the table by 7.00pm; ok, so we left by 7.00 pm and it was empty just us and one other couple. Guys were lovely the other workers but she was very cold and abrupt and as I said on her mobile all the time; not a great advert for the restaurant; don't think I'll be coming back. Shame a food is amazing but lady let them down.

Staff were very attentive, friendly and speedy. Food was disappointing. Everthing lacked any depth of flavour, was mild almost sweet and although looked good, just didn’t deliver. Obviously South Indian food isn’t for us. Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
