The lady who answered the phone sounded like she was having a bad day, we booked anyway and when we arrived she didn’t get any better. She didn’t look us in the eyes she just simply said I’ve put you on table 19 we then had to go and find our own table. Once sat down we were ignored for some time. We ordered our food and it arrived very quickly. We ordered two beef roasts. First the coli cheese arrived with carrots and suede with red cabbage then a bowl of peas. The beef was over cooked, the potatoes were so soggy the knife wouldn’t even get through them. The gravy was ok but on the whole there was no flavor. Great pub, great location, unfortunately there is one very miserable member of staff who had a face like a slapped bum. The staff were great apart from said middle aged barmaid/waitress who struggled to make eye contact, let alone provide any standard of service. The food was ok, pretty bland, over cooked beef, and a very stodgy Yorkshire. A huge shame as the service and quality of food used to be a lot better.
Popped in while passing on holiday, very very friendly, managed to squeeze us in before people for a concert in the hall next door. Food was fantastic, steak done to perfection and halloumi dips to start, hubby had squid to start and mixed grill and loved his too. Highly recommended this pub, thanks for fitting us in
Popped in twice for a meal while staying locally (choosing to return is a review in itself). Nice pub, good service, great food, competativly priced. Owners doing the simple stuff really well. We ate sirloin steak, burger, fish and curry during our visits all really nice. Would definitely recommend.

Great place for lunch, we both had fish and chips which was the best I've had! Couldn't fault the food at all. The young boy on the bar was lovely! We will definitely be back! 10/10
We had four delicious meals here (with dogs!! ! Nice service, but unrivaled in the town of Paul. We stayed in 6 Trungle Terrace, which was quite private but also recommended!
We arrived late on Sunday but the pub still managed to offer us two excellent meals, a great pud and a pint of Proper Job ale. Highly recommend.
Sunday lunch very good food can't fault it. Service not so good I'm afraid lacking on the customer experience big time.....
