I have to start by saying how lovely the staff are here and particularly because I had an energetic exploring. However, the food although not bad at all just wasn't what I was expecting from the King's Wark. Rather lackluster burgers the portions for the children were overly generous. My youngest just couldn't cope and ended up not eating very much at all. The fish was definitely enjoyed but the ice-cream again, nothing to write home about Having said all this they might have just been having a bad day so I would return if only to be able to update this review (hopefully) to stars!
The menu states that they have a few GF options a burger, fish and chips, seabass. When the waitress came over I asked about the fish and chips and she told me if it was ordered GF it would be plain grilled haddock not battered therefore in my opinion, not the same as fish and chips. I then asked about the burger and they didn't have GF buns, but they did have GF bread. A really lovely place and atmosphere but a huge let down to see many menu items market with GF to find it's really a poor effort.
Absolutely fantastic! Ate here purely by accident and it was such a wonderful experience. It's a beautiful pub with the best waitstaff. The drinks were excellent with lots of local options and the food was top notch. My son enjoyed the kid's mussels and we all stole several and dipped our bread into his sauce. The scallops were fantastic and a huge amount for a very reasonable price. The garlic butter on the scallops was also enjoyed by all. Fantastic place!
We had an impromptu dinner here on our first night in Edinburgh and it was perfect! The place itself was super cozy and inviting. The service was excellent and everyone couldn't have been friendlier. We both opted for the beef stew after a long day of sightseeing in the cool rainy weather and it hit the spot! We felt quite lucky to have stumbled upon this neighborhood gem! Definitely recommend!

Large groups can sometimes be difficult to accommodate but King's Wark did a fantastic job. I couldn't pick out one single dish to highlight because everything was top quality. This place is simply somewhere you have to go to when in Edinburgh Leith.
We did not get the Christmas fayre that we ordered online. It was disappointing since I was taking my wife for her birthday. I said that I booked the meal online but they would not let us have it. I even printed out the menu before going.
The staff was very friendly and we felt very welcome. The food also was very good, nicely displayed and for us the portions were a bit more than enough ... all in all highly recommended.
We visited from Canada for our wedding anniversary. The staff was so nice and welcoming. The food was nice, fresh and generous. We had a wonderful and lovely time !

The food was excellent and the staff gave us the space and time we needed for our catch up. There was no rush.
Catch up night with an old friend -great food, nice atmosphere all in all great night out
