The best sandwich I've had outside the USA! I ordered the New Yorker, which was so filling that I couldn’t even think about dinner later. The bread was wonderfully fresh, just like the fillings. I was also impressed that I was offered various options, including whether I wanted salt and pepper. It's no surprise that it was amazing, even though there was quite a long queue outside. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in Keswick!
I enjoyed a delicious fresh hot sandwich at this place filled with ham and drizzled with gravy. I had it in a freshly baked baguette! My friend has celiac disease, and the staff were fantastic in recommending safe filling options for him. I'm especially thankful to the young woman who carefully cleaned the work surfaces before preparing his sandwich. He had a mayo that he said was delightful!
They offer gluten-free bread and take careful precautions when preparing your sandwiches, including washing their hands and covering the work surfaces with paper. They also double-checked all the ingredients for me. It's a charming traditional sandwich shop with plenty of options. I had a Reuben, and it was delicious!
my place for sandwiches in keswick! I tend to go for the mozzarella, tomato and basilikum in a baguette with sun-dried tomato mayonnaise as they cannot knock the aromen! the only light thing to knock is that sometimes the sandwich manufacturers can be a bit on the slow side, but they are definitiw friendly! Ordered a gluten free sandwich and they asked if I was celiac. I’m not, but the staff person told me when I asked that they have a whole celiac protocol of using fresh gloves, paper, even fresh ingredients to ensure lack of cross contamination. And my sandwich was simple but good, and quite cheap!
There were many excellent filling options available. The staff were very conscientious about food safety and asked if I had celiac disease or gluten intolerance. Even though I have gluten intolerance, they took the time to check what level of cross-contamination I could tolerate.
