My twin brother Stephen and I were pub and bar hopping around La Carihuela when we decided to drop into The Launch ,a pub we always look forward to visiting. A great looking bar, interior is superb, a great looking serving bar dominates the main room, pubby decor and furnishings, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling promenade. We got beers from Amstel Brewery, this famous Dutch beer was served iced cold and sparkling, we chilled out and planned out the day ahead while sipping our beers. A big fan of this beer ,light and hoppy, bursting with taste and very easy to drink indeed. We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to here we had a great time. The Launch is easy to locate along Calle Carmen and is well worth checking out if you're in the area.
We were served generally by an older man who never gave eye contact or was pleasant. We felt like we were an imposition and a second class citizen. We were swerved by x2 younger people (male and female) who were lovely and attentive. But the older person (possibly owner/manager) really spoiled the experience. He was so rude and dismissive. No customer service skills, not even a smile. If your face fits then you are fine, if it’s doesn’t then don’t expect a good service. Burgers, fries, ribs were hot, fresh and really tasty. Well done to the kitchen staff. Avoid if your not the right nationality.
My Husband and I visited the launch for dinner on a recent holiday in la. Carihuela. It has new owners and it has been newly decorated which is lovely. It is the ideal setting poking out on to the beach. The staff were nice and friendly. My husband had the steak and it was cooked to perfection. I had the launch burger which was delicious. We washed it down with a few beers. We will be back again next year.
