The Laundry Room

A quiet and unique place for a date or even a double date (only groups of 2-4), as long as you know what to expect. This is really in the former room of the El Cortez off-site laundry room so that the tiny room bursts with real Vegas history. You enter the Commonwealth Nightclub, which was not yet open at our 7:30 reservation, but the door was visited and we were quickly accompanied inside. The hostess took a moment to explain the origin of the place and the house rules: talk quietly, no photos, no phone calls, 2 drink minimum, 90 minutes per seat, order only from the menu, congratulation is included overall, and the purchase of popcorn is required (it is really big popcorn, and it is happy to fill up as needed). We agreed and were led to our small table, near the fantastic but inconspicuous piano player, given free mocktails / punch, and gave a quite extensive selection of drinks. The bartender visits every person and is happy to explain flavor combinations and to give his expert opinion. These concoctions are really art- not call drinks or house wine here- but wonderful flavor combinations and beautiful presentation. Reservation required. I can say from some reviews that this is not a place for everyone, but that's why I enjoyed it. It is expensive but in line with upscale Vegas price- and it is a completely different mood than a typical casino bar. If you want a unique exclusive experience, this is the place.

Great disappointment! Awakened at 5:00 two weeks before trying to get a hard reservation - had really high expectations and zero doubts in this place. Unfortunately, our experience was not as fabulous as expected. We sat by the hostess, who gave us a little story about speaking time. She was friendly and informative. She led us to the bar and put us at the bar. That's where things turned. The bartender was rude and not welcoming. When we asked for drinking suggestions, he seemed irritated and directed us to the menu. I mean, isn't the idea of speaking time to have created something for you? As someone in our group after a proposal based on an old fashion.. A friend in our group mentioned a smoked cocktail ..again was met with a final comment. It really didn't stop. The place had less than 5 guests all the time we sat - 70 minutes. I enjoy his version of an expresso martini, but could not believe how rude he was, nor the passive aggressive jabs he was in response to drinking questions or in general conversation. I really wanted to love this place. We love a good speech lesson.. but this place certainly missed the sign!

This is our way to talk when in Las Vegas. It tries to give a more speaking mood, so the rules. This really gives you a chance to actually talk to the person or people you came with, instead of being stuck with your phone like the majority of people. I can see that this is hard for some people, but hey, it is what people had to go back to the day, enjoy the experience. Bartenders have always been great. There is a set menu option that is great when you are an open soul. If you are not (which would be sad) you can give your bartender some words and they will make you a drink based on it. The prices are quite similar to other places I was in Las Vegas. There is a minimum of two drinks that is fair and I don't know why someone wouldn't want two drinks if you were there. The congratulation fees are all right, we are not cheap and typical tip good, so we have no problems with thatAtmosphere is calm, love if they play the person, the piano as you can request songs. It's pretty easy to find and get. Parking is street or parking.

My favorite bar/speakeasy I’ve ever been to. The hostess and bartender were so nice and professional. I loved the style of the bar, it was very cozy and just quiet enough. The drinks were amazing! Great selection and bartender was very knowledgeable. I loved how it was not overcrowded but still enough people to be enjoyable. Overall a 10/10 experience. We will definitely return!

just complaining. they take a little too seriously. Drinks are at the top. very knowledgeable. a perfect one they just talk. a front missing.
